McCarthy over Moore in 2022

I understand everyone's excited about the offense and the hot shot coordinator but I just can't get on board with the way too popular idea of making Kellen Moore the head coach next year.

I think that's a terrible idea. This team is a legit contender. There's no reason why they won't be a contender next year. The last thing they need is a rookie head coach in training leading them when they can win titles.

Moore may turn out to be a great head coach some day. I have no idea. Neither does anyone else including the team that eventually gives him that position but he's not the right guy for this team right now.

He may not excite you but you know what you have in McCarthy. An experienced head coach who knows how to lead a team deep into the playoffs. This is the right fit for a team ready to win now.

That would mean we probably lose Moore in the offseason and that's fine. Find another. He didn't reinvent the wheel here.
:hammer:The Cowboys offensive talent is the best in the NFL. 5 quality wide receivers, 1 good tight end, 2 top 10 running backs, two Hall of Fame offensive linemen, and a top quarterback in his prime. The quarterback coach could lead the offense and we would not miss a beat. The Cowboys will be ok if the Giants hire Moore.

if you google mike mccarthy, this is the first paragraph from the first result right now.

“The Cowboys entered Gillette Stadium on Sunday as the favorites. Head coach Mike McCarthy worked to negate some of that advantage very early on.“

I agree. This team is going to better next year. Especially the defense due to all the good young players on defense having a full NFL offseason.
I think we have 2-3 year window with the current roster to do something. You don't want to ruin that opportunity with another HC in training prospect.

I just hope that the Cowboy's management is grooming up and coming coaches that are under Quinn and Kellen so they can slide into their spots when they leave and keep the same coaching methods.

MM deserves a minimum of 3 years to finish what hes building before you want some green newb running the team for the first time ala Garett???!!!??

if KM is patient and waits he will get shot someday maybe 2023 but why run and leave before you finish what you started?

he will have the same opportunity's in 2023 as 2022

so ridiculous that fans believe if this season finishes in a great place, you fire a coach..lmao

i guess you forget how Jimmy left and want to once again somehow make change for the sake of changing if we are winning..what in the world of hades is is in your minds..:huh:

lmao

if he leaves let him leave as much as i like the guy , if he bolts and turns on us , good riddens..MM has always called plays and can still call plays..the playbook goes nowhere, its ours! we also have the offensive players not MOORE, he cant take them with him..

im not worried about losing Moore, if and when warranted sure lets give him shot but after a successful year this year may turn out to be, you do not make that move..that's insanity:oldcouple:.

Moore is staying.

So is Big Mike.

I think the only way Moore splits is if they win the SB.

Not seeing head coach demeanor in Sparky 'the wunderkid' Moore, hopefully Jerry pays him enough for him to want to stay and finish this out

McCathy changed the culture of the Cowboys in less than 21 games. Let his winning percentage as HC do the talking for him. Moore has found long term employment with the Cowboys and I bet he is grateful for McCarthy's mentorship. Don't forget, Moore has been the OC for three years. The offense never looked like this before and you're kidding yourself if you think it's all Moore.
:hammer:

yup like the playbook and layers would go with him..this is a perfect storm of a creative OC seasoned offensive HC, and some of the best players on offense a coach could dream of..

I know what Troy has said and it has sparked this thought that Moore is a goner but I am not 100% sure that is the case. There are other very good OC's out there that have been doing it longer and with more success than Moore.. Eric B in KC, Greg R in Baltimore both come to mind. It definitely could happen, I am not saying it won't but I do not think it is a guarantee and I think Moore would be smart enough to determine if the situation is a good one for him to go to. Vegas, Jacksonville, would be the only 2 I would consider if I was him, unless some surprise opening happens with an established QB.

As a Boise native I'm one of the biggest Moore fans on the board. With that said though, I agree that I think he should continue to groom himself in the NFL. I just see absolutely zero justification that you run McCarthy out of town after we finish this season. He has already turned around this "Garrett" locker room and currently (and I believe will finish) with a winning record. I do think you could talk Moore into staying, with some kind of professional language, that lets him know he has a chance to take over the team's keys in a few years. Not just any keys. The keys to the Dallas Cowboys.

With that said, we all know how the NFL operates. Some coach needy team will be desperate and looking for the next up and coming young coach, i.e. Moore, and will beg him for a shot.
