This game is going to stick with Belichick

We had over 100 yards rushing...and he didn't force us into mistakes, we made those on our own. Bill just walked the side lines looking upset, that's all he did.

That was the weakest rushing game we've had since TB. And yes you're right Connor Williams holding had nothing to do with the NE whipping his butt every play...No that was just Williams holding because he was bored.

Patriots should have won this game, and lost. This nonsense you said doesn't change that.

I don't really follow the Pats much, but I would be interested to see who is doing most of the draft decisions these days vs their dynasty days. It takes a while to rebuild a situation as good as Tom Brady, but they were always known for great defensive standouts, and a few gems on the Oline. They've had some okay wideouts but with the exception of Randy moss, honestly I think Brady made them all look better.
Brady was special but Belichick used to be good on the lines and was exceptional at picking FA's to fit his needs. He was not good at drafting DB's and finally gave up and went the FA route.

He has had the most power over his talent of any HC and the main reason he shunned the Jets for Kraft and the Pats. His players are handpicked for a specific purpose.

In his defense, he has been drafting down at the bottom except when he can get trades for his pro bowlers.

I think there is an expiration date on the effectiveness of coaches. Lombardi, Grant, Levy and Landry hit that wall. Parcells and Johnson hit it as well. Guys like Belichick, Carroll and Reid have been at this a long time and keeping the fire has to be hard to rekindle every off season.

Coaches watch the game, not the score, and when he watches film of this one he's going to know he had help or he loses by 20.

Do you really think the football world is looking at that as a 6 point loss?
Im just trying to comprehend how you think that will be one of Bills most painful losses?

Without Brady he will get used to losing. After a while it won't bother him at all.

They have had four home games and lost them all. So teams are also getting used to winning there. They got the jets there next week, so maybe they finally win one at home.

He watched his team get manhandled and TOP for the Cowboys was ridiculous and to top that off, he watched a QB set the record against him on his own field.

He watched a young OC with 0 fear of his reputation for defense and impose his will while fighting bad breaks and calls and to make that worse, he watched that young OC cool, calm and collected as he dissected his defense. He came with a plan and was working his plan.

He watched his defense give up 35 points, 567 yards with 445 passing yards and a 70% completion rate from the QB.

You could see the wheels turning in his head as he knew his team was really no match for the one he was playing and they were being kept in the game by luck and some help.

No doubt, this one hurt Belichick more than any other game in a very long time. Losing to Brady and then this on top of that losing this game was the double whammy as this was his chance to redeem himself for this season.

He is still Belichick but some of the bloom is off that rose, his mystique somewhat tarnished and he is nothing more than a mere mortal coach today. He was out coached and his team outplayed and he knows it. And so do the Krafts and fans.
Am I wrong, or is this the first time ANY Dallas team has beaten a Belichek-coached NE team? I think we beat him when he was at Cleveland.

I will have to go back and watch it but watching it yesterday, I thought Belichick did an amazing job and I think there are things that other teams will try to do moving forward. The OL played outstanding for the most part. It appeared to me Belichick had 2 plans, stop the run and confuse Dak and take away his first read, and at first watch it appears he was successful at both. The issue is, his rush didn't get to Dak in time and it allowed him to move on to other reads and a lot of big plays came from off script plays it seemed. Dak really played well yesterday and didn't get flustered.. huge compliment to Dak and they way he played.

That NE team was out manned yesterday on a talent level. But they were disciplined, played within themselves and was in it until the end. Dallas made a lot of mistakes. If we could be as disciplined as NE and with the talent we have, there would be no stopping us.

I would not be surprised to see Belichick retire at the end of this year, it doesn't look like he is having fun at all. It appeared someone one the sideline was taking him to the woodshed yesterday, every shot he had something else wrong with him, cut on his nose, bloody lip.. etc. he was taking a beating along with his team.

They just don’t have much talent on offense . It’s obvious Brady carried that franchise offensively most seasons .

Yep

Romo kept saying must stop us on 1st down and then put pressure on Dak. And as usual Romo was right. But the Pats still too often only rushed 4 guys.

Like Romo said, can’t let Dak sit back there. He has too many weapons.

Though very exciting for us , pretty sure a regular season OT loss against a far more talented team isn't going to take any luster off his 6 rings.

On the contrary, we should be embarrassed that we so thoroughly dominated a team but only barely beat them in OT. Belecheks team overachieved getting us to overtime in a game they should have lost by 20+ points. He's probably kinda proud that his patchwork defense and rookie QB almost pulled this one off.

I don't think it will stick with him...he knows his team isn't that good this year, especially when going up against the Cowboys. You saw the difference between the two teams in their halftime interviews. McCarthy said the Cowboys had new schemes for the 2nd half. Belichick said they just need to keep grinding.

Nobody will be brady:laugh:

The odds are against it. Jones could end up being the next Brady and not be viewed as such, because lots of things fell in place for Brady and the odds of the stars lining up like that are astronomically against that happening.

Having said that Jones has a better pedigree than Brady did coming into the league and he has developed under the Hoodie’s guidance already. The Patriots could be very hard to beat by the end of the year. They are improving rapidly.

So you're saying that Belichick made Williams hold? He's been doing that and getting flagged for it so that doesn't really mean anything. Belichick didn't make Dak fumble at the goal line (though it never should've even come to that, he was in before), Belichick didn't cause the deflection in the end zone that was intercepted, he didn't cause the safety to take a horrible angle on that long pass.

If you want to sau Belichick did all that then give McCarthy the credit for the win. By those standards he was the better coach.

how should patriouts have won this game? they clearly were out played and were extremley lucky (with some help from the refs) to be this close. they should be ecstatic to have taken this team to over time

One thing was obvious to me, he knows how to get his players prepared. They were a lot more sound fundamentally and almost beat a superior team. Hard to be too upset when he knows they are rebuilding.
He knows how to gamepla. Congrats but patriots were making as any mistakes at us. That backup rb who came in was noticeably bad and ineffective in the the three plays he had. He got Mac killed twice

Because this time tried its best to give it to them. Failed 4th down conversions in our own territory, missed FG, bad safety play and poor rushing defense by the cowboys. Penalties turnovers, we did everything we could to give this game to the patriots. And if it hadn't been for Dak taking control the last two drives, and conservative play calling by Bill we would have lost. Dont mistake it. we outplayed them, but we did not deserve to win this game. The refs tried to make us lose, and any other season in the past we lose that game.

He can take his rings and go fishing with Jimmy any time he wants. When he's giving his HOF speech I doubt this game will even cross his mind.

It'll sting because he almost pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Cowboys obviously has a better team. Still with a rookie QB and patched up offense he managed to keep this game close and almost won. NE played a very clean game. Should teach McCarthy that clean up penalties and TO so we DON'T beat ourselves! McCarthy got bailed out again yesterday. He would have been crucified for the two fourth down calls (1st Q and 4th Q) if we had lost the game.
We won and he is still being crucified

To know that he stopped our rushing attack, forced us into making multiple mistakes, a missed FG, terrible 3rd down conversions, and multiple 4th down stops.. YET still lost the game? Oh i know he's hot. If he could he would probably fire someone. This was a game that he wins 10/10 times any other season

What was it, like 12 penalties for over 150 yards for us. Wow!

He did exactly what he plan, which was to slow or stop our run game and force Dak to beat him. Guess what his azz didn't to Dak's been telling them......pick you poison. lol
And our passing game gave up 11 easy points (int and dropped TD pass) and our OL gave up another 7 by not being able to score from the 1.

Should have been a blowout. We shot ourselves in the foot more than enough times to lose that game!
