Who would have thought after week 1 or 2 we would hardly mention his name after week 6. Not sure what Quinn's plan is for this kid but he needs to figure it out........fast. The kid has way too much talent to not make a min 2-3 impact plays per game. Figure it out Dan!!! lol

That's the problem with coming out like a house afire as he did. You raise expectations to unreasonable levels. No defensive player makes a minimum "2-3 impact plays" every single game (unless you count normal tackles as impact), much less a rookie.

On the bright side, the team won without Parsons having a monster game. Other players stepped up. That is good.

Teams can, and will, gameplan and take Parsons out. Other players need to make plays when teams try that.

I do think the team needs to rest Parsons about 10 plays at LB with Cox. Parsons needs the rest and Cox needs the reps. Too many eggs in one basket with playing Parsons so much.

Teams are now planning for him. He is seeing schemes and attack angles he has never seen before. He will learn. He will be a dominant force in the future.

We knew this game was going to try the linebackers and safeties and some of them were going to come out not looking as great as our previous opponents that challenged us more with all passing and the long ball. It's Belichick's MO when facing a high-powered offense and Big Mike did him a favor allowing them to get in sync with this when he allowed them to score first on that dumb call to go for it on 4th and 1 with the score 0-0. It's the same thing Parcells used to do. Keep it close and under control, and it damn near worked. This is the kind of game 8 weeks later we're going to look much better on D. So much youth and learning on that D.

In order to get the defensive juices flowing, Quinn needs to insert Cox more often into the lineup..

He needs to be opposite of 94 all day going after the QB. Forget about disguising where he's coming from. He is a natural pass rusher. You don't move Von Miller to inside Linebacker, you let him hunt QB's!

He'll come around better after the bye week. He's still adjusting to a tougher schedule and the talent of bigger opponents. ;)

Let's not expect pro bowl performances from a developing rookie! He'll be great. Just give him time to make adjustments!

A non pass rushing LB just doesn’t have as many splash plays. Put me in the camp that his special talents are mostly wasted playing a standard LB role.
That’s exactly why I’d be looking for that run stuffing MLB in next draft, Cox at Will and parsons all over the place with main job being pass rushing

I have no real problem with him playing coverage here and there as an off the ball linebacker. BUT anytime the offense calls an audible or motion that puts him in man with a back or TE off the line of scrimmage, the defense needs to check the play.

Parsons has pretty much disappeared the last three games after really jumping off the film during the first three games. The Cowboys have put a lot on his plate and it’s probably starting to catch up with him. He hasn’t played poorly as of late but he’s hit kind of a wall. They need to find a position for him and keep him there. Allow him to master one thing and become great at it.

Dan Quinn and Mike McCarthy are doing a yeoman's job with the talent we have at hand.

Why can't we appreciate the fact that we're playing the best football we have in 20 years?

I watched the NFL game recap on YouTube, it seems when running they go away from him and passing pick on him. Also he looked tentative on some goalline plays. Definitely wasn't his best game

Unless you're crazy with insane energy like LT, it's virtually impossible to play at that level every game.
Parson has so much going for him (talent like speed and strength) and so much going against him (like playing out of position, having to absorb the knowledge of two positions, being away from football for a full year, etc.).
I aint mad at him. If he just keeps his head straight, he'll be fine.
I don't think it's wise, however, to keep him as a pass rushing linebacker all the time. His body isn't equipped for it. He will be worn down by the latter part of the season.
