No need to apologize brother. You're absolutely right. It's so wrong for Everson Walls to be left off of this list by the tweet creator. By far, Everson was one of the best CBs in NFL history who Dallas drafted in 1981. He is tops in INTs (12) during his first 18 games (as you stated). Everson had 11 INTs his rookie year (amazing record that will probably never be broken), 12 by his first 18 games and ended with 18 INTs by the end of his 2nd year in 1982 with the Cowboys.Everson Walls: 12
Led the NFL in interceptions 3 times. Tied for 13th all time in interceptions, 4 time pro-bowler and an NFL all-pro, and he can't even make their list. SMH...
Edit: Awesome for Diggs though!!!!! Didn't mean to make it appear I was discrediting him.
And hopefully one that will be rectified very soonNo need to apologize brother. You're absolutely right. It's so wrong for Everson Walls to be left off of this list by the tweet creator. Diggs has 10 total INTs through his first 18 games. He's got 8 more INTs to go to reach and tie Everson Walls after his first 2 full seasons (11 more games left). Can Diggs get 8 more INTs? That will be tough, but it sure will be fun to watch and see if he can.
By the way, that Everson Walls is not in the NFL Hall Of Fame is a robbery and a total disgrace!
In his defense...I don't think he had a criteria I think he just listed some of the best cornerbacks of all time. Because I know for sure ex-Cowboy Derek Ross had 5 interceptions his rookie year. I think he's just randomly naming great ones...which Everyone was but I guess maybe because he's from a different era?
He should have a gold jacket
wasnt walls a low round pick? those guys dont get as much media attention as the high round picks.I know that tweet is HOF players. That was the larger point I was trying to make. He is an all-pro, Super Bowl winning, 3 time NFL interception leader, 13th all time in INTs, and has more career INT's than half the guys on that list. Yet not one breath about him for the hall.
He also had another 4 interceptions in 10 career playoff games.
Your question echoed mine. I remember him playing, but I suppose I am biased haha.
No wonder they ran the ball so dang much.Walls is a good reminder not to raise your expectations too high. He had 11 his rookie year and another year with 9, but most years he was in the 3-4 range. He wasn't any lesser a player those years, it's just that INTs (kinda like sacks) are fickle things.
The other thing to remember is teams threw an average of 22 INTs per year back then, and the league leaders grabbed 10-12. Nowadays, teams throw 12 INT per year and the league leaders generally get 7-8. So if Diggs gets to 11 this year, that's a more impressive achievement than Walls getting 11 back then. But Walls does get bonus points for being a rookie.
81 is the record I’d like to see Diggs break
All with a star on his helmet

If walls did all that, he should be in HOF, but HOF is often a popularity thing more than merit.
I seem to remember media and announcers talk about walls, like he was a fluke, not supposed to be good,
but he keeps getting ints, and making plays lol. They didnt understand it.

He was right on the cusp of the drop from the 12 range to the 10 range. The leader had double-digit INTs each of the 7 years before his 11 (even though most of those years had only 14 games), and was 9-10 each of the 8 non-strike years after him.Walls 11 picks in 1981 is still the most by any player in the last 40 years. The league leader had 10 three other times that decade (same number of times there was a double digit leader during the 2000's by the way).
10th all-time NFL with 57.Everson Walls: 12

Yeah, defensive triplets. Just as important as offensive triplets. We have playmakers at every level. Gregory, Parsons and Diggs.
Oh yeah it is. Someone did that this offseason posting Lamb's I think yards per catch in college and they listed guys like Jerry Rice as if these were the best in college when they weren't. Did it prop up Lamb which is not necessary because Lamb is great regardless.Okay, I can see that. Might want to title it Diggs vs. all time great corners in first 18 games but to get traffic I'm sure he wanted people thinking it was all-time vs. everyone. Old media trick to show something provocative to get people talking/watching and have the true context come out later.
UDFA'S dont get any respect as far as hof or roh.Walls was an undrafted free agent actually.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everson_Walls
"Pro scouts thought he was too slow for the National Football League after he ran the 40-yard dash in a disappointing 4.72 seconds during workouts.[1] Eventually, however, his hometown Cowboys signed him as an undrafted free agent, entering the league as a 21-year-old. Although he was being targeted by opposing quarterbacks who were throwing away from more experienced players, he made an immediate impact by leading the league in interceptions as a backup,[2] until he was named the starter in the fifth game of the season and finished with a league leading 11 interceptions.[3] Coached by the legendary Tom Landry, he received a Pro Bowl invitation as a rookie for his contributions"
