His biggest mistake was scoring too soon to end the game. And he should know better after having one of the most cluth qb's ever in TB. Even BB makes mistakes.

As he should given poor clock management has been his problem. He's not facing too much criticism. If we lost we be calling for his head .
Only clock management that matters is who is ahead when the game clock hits zero

The Pats are not a talented team but they gave us all we could handle because they are very well coached and very disciplined along with starting a very young QB who is not dynamic in any way. Sure they got a ton of help from the refs but their talent is poor.

Clock management directly during the game leads to who will be ahead when clock hits zero.

We were playing an anemic offense. Why would you take the chance and given them the ball immediately within FG range in the 1st Quarter?! Down right stupid. You want to be aggressive that's good. But got to take into consideration who you are playing against.

He’s GOAT. He lucked out getting to coach Tom Brady for 2 decades sure, but the man is a great coach.

Having said that, I don’t think there is a huge gap between coaching staffs in the NFL. This gap is so tiny, that what always decides games and creates the perception of who is or isn’t a good coach is completely related to the talent on the field. Jimmy Johnson was a moron that was in over his head in 1990. In 1993 he was a genius.

If we were to play the Pats again, we would smoke them by four TD’s.

Unless you were Jason Garrett. It just seems that every team we played we were going to get out coached. McCarthy, with all his warts, at least has put his team in a position to win every game. Garrett has never figured that out.

He watched his team get manhandled and TOP for the Cowboys was ridiculous and to top that off, he watched a QB set the record against him on his own field.

He watched a young OC with 0 fear of his reputation for defense and impose his will while fighting bad breaks and calls and to make that worse, he watched that young OC cool, calm and collected as he dissected his defense. He came with a plan and was working his plan.

He watched his defense give up 35 points, 567 yards with 445 passing yards and a 70% completion rate from the QB.

You could see the wheels turning in his head as he knew his team was really no match for the one he was playing and they were being kept in the game by luck and some help.

No doubt, this one hurt Belichick more than any other game in a very long time. Losing to Brady and then this on top of that losing this game was the double whammy as this was his chance to redeem himself for this season.

He is still Belichick but some of the bloom is off that rose, his mystique somewhat tarnished and he is nothing more than a mere mortal coach today. He was out coached and his team outplayed and he knows it. And so do the Krafts and fans.

Another thing that hurting Bellicheck is his pocket book. He paid off all those refs and didn't get the win.

I seriously doubt this game sticks with Bill. He's already moved on to the New York Jets.

Pats have a good QB. That's half the battle in rebuilding your franchise. They just need to rebuild talent in a lot of positions. They'll be back.
I agree. Mac Jones has a bright future.

The stuff I read where fans say the pats’ success was all Tom Brady is so over-simplified. The team the pats have had the last 2 years has so much less overall talent than they had when Brady was there. Brady is great of course. But so is Belichick. His ability to scheme defensive game plans allowed his pats teams with less stars than many playoff teams to overachieve.

He can take his rings and go fishing with Jimmy any time he wants. When he's giving his HOF speech I doubt this game will even cross his mind.
Of course it won't, I wasn't insinuating this is a life long loss but it will last beyond the next couple of games because of the way he is. That A&M loss will not leave Saban anytime soon, it's just the way they're made. And they are cut from the same cloth as HC's.

For Belichick, he lost the showdown with Brady but think about how he pulls back up taking his inferior team with a rookie QB and beating the media darling of the NFL. And don't think all of that America's Team BS sits well with him. He has the most rings and plays in the Revolution's birthplace. he is America's Head Coach.

Belichick knows he missed a chance at resurrecting the Mad Scientist Mystique in that game.
