Whether it was 2 man under, or he was in a soft squat, hard flat, cloud flat, etc.. he got beat and Kazee was either trying to be a super hero or doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing and bit wayyy to hard on the first half of the double move (the out route)

He got “beat” because he elected to move away and let Kazee make a play on the ball and Kazee took the worst angle possible and now people think Diggs got burned lol.

Two quick thoughts:

-It's funny how Diggs has become football Jesus around here. Some view any criticism of any Digg's play as a violation of their sacred code.

-From my view Kazee was 100% tentative because he wasn't sure how to play it. Go for the ball? Knock the guy silly? Wrap up? Let Diggs make the play? I think all the rules changes and fear of the Pats friendly refs was swimming round hard in his head. And he might have thought the best choice was to defer to ball-hawking Mr. Diggs.

How would you have played it as safety? I'm not sure in that split second what I would have done.

his job was to stay in coverage not assume the safety would make the play. He knows it evidently you don't. I'm not down on Diggs at all, things like this can happen but because a safety comes in does not mean the CB pulls up.

This is exactly how I explained it yesterday. Do we not remember when he made the interception on the deep bomb when he was trailing the guy at first, caught up, and moved in position to catch it? That's exactly what happened. He didn't bite hard, he bit a tad, then turned around and was chasing the guy.

To me it looked like he was about to catch up, jump up and intercept the ball. Guy has amazing leaping ability for a 6'2 guy. However, Kazee was the X factor in all of this. He came over to help, and instead of making a play on the ball, knocking it down or anything, he over ran the ball and the player. The freakiest thing I've seen in a while. But if you want to believe that Diggs was burned, then believe it. And I truly hope teams see this play, and think that they can pull a double move on my guy Diggs and challenge him. Records will be broken in Diggs behalf.

actually i can see perspective on the replay I just watched. sounds crazy but totally a weird play. Diggs may have been able to at least knock it down.

I’m all for calling anyone out when they deserve it.

Their is a difference in critiquing Diggs on this play vs acting like he got burned. Only person who burned Diggs on that play was his own teammate who took the worst angle possible.

Diggs was under, the safety was supposed to be over. Diggs was trying for the pick.. and the Safety dived 18 yards to the left.. all the while Diggs runs by and says "Really !"

I’m right. If you don’t want to accept that then that’s fine. I’m just providing you the correct information. Do with it what you will.

How many understood that on the patriots 75 yard td, that we were in man to man coverage?
Anyway whether you did or didn’t, Diggs wasn’t really beat, yes he bit on the double move
but he wasn’t beat , Just watched that play again, stopped it rewound it went frame by frame. Here’s my question anyone else noticed how fast Diggs closed down the receiver once he saw Jones release the ball he was about to pick another until he saw Kazee coming and he pulled up, if you don’t believe me go back and watch the play again, slow it down and you will see that he was about to pick that but slowed down when he thought Kazee was about to make a play on the ball, receiver or both.
Don't know what the safety was doing ?
Looking like he over ran the play?

He got beat because HE took a bad angle. Last year it happened a few times a game and he gave up a lot of TDs. That’s why I was never sold on him as our #1 corner, the comparisons to Deion as simply blasphemous.

So last year you can just toss that out the window.

He was a raw rookie coming out of college. He had barely played the position.

You have to go by what you see this year and right now he is as elite as it gets and saying Deion comparisons are blasphemous is blasphemous. He’s having one of the best if not the best stretch of games for any corner that’s ever played this sport. He’s unreal.

Maybe it’s the power of suggestion, but I do see now that Diggs pulled up because he saw the safety coming over the top.

Kazee should have played for the ball. A pass interference would have been better that a whiff.

Disagree.. Diggs plays the entire thing knowing he has help from his safety. Very clear.

Even if he gets “beat” he’s knowing it’s not an issue because the safety should be sweeping anything in the area where the ball got caught.

He even let up on it as seen in the video.

If Kazee takes good angles nobody is talking about Diggs on this play.

And Kazee should have picked that as well. It was right there for the taking. Plus as I said yesterday he was gassed in hoopla just minutes before when he took one back.

Diggs was fooled hard on that double move so even if it wasnt a touchdown it wouldve been a big gain even if the Safety does his job

it was a good move

Diggs is still a baller and still is having a great season so far

Yup, and the best corners get fooled every now and then. Just part of the game.

He bit on the double move then tried to undercut the throw. No need to pretend otherwise.

If you’re right and Diggs tried to undercut the throw then he might have the worst ball skills in NFL history but based on this video and what we know about his ball skills I’m pretty sure he wasn’t undercutting the throw and he was passing him off to the safety.

Looked to me like Diggs expected the pass inside and guessed wrong Kazee took a bad angle. Diggs got double-moved and simply guessed wrong. Probably a little greedy. It's amazing how you can go from hero to zero in about 30 seconds...

100% Correct. Simple responsibilities in the coverage.
Kazee had 3 tasks on that pass. Last line of defense; break up pass or get INT.

Failing grade for Kazee on that play.

I know for sure Kazee misplayed it.
I think if Diggs doesn't jump the out route the ball is never thrown, so think he's also partially to blame.
