Is Daks calf strain a concern?

Absolutely it is.

Mostly because you can't trust what comes out of the Star. "day to day" becomes near amputation.

Gallup went out with a calf strain. He's been out a month
Right

And the fact it’s on same leg as ankle injury last year has to put up some additional caution.

Hopefully it’s a mild strain. But I’d rather miss him a game or two now than risk additional injury.

He was wearing a boot yesterday and needed assistance getting off the field Sunday. MRI today.

It’s on the same leg he had multiple surgeries on his gruesome ankle injury.

Gallup has been out for several weeks with a Calf strain. Martin last year missed some games with a similar injury.

Hopefully the bye week will be enough time to recover and it’s only a mild strain. We should learn more in coming days.

Nope. QB's play through calf strains all of the time. Aikman did it. Rodgers did it. Dak also has the bye to rest. This is a non-issue.

Might put a little shimmy in that pregame "Hip Shake, Baby" routine but he throws a lot without that plant foot firmly on the turf.

Zimmer will test him for sure and send them to get him moving out of the pocket but with the weapons at his disposal, that could backfire.

Prescott knows how to manage himself through this and he will take the necessary precautions to be ready to pour motor oil in the Vikings trick r treat bags.

The Vikings have more of a concern than Prescott. They rank 24th in rush yards and 28th in YPC with 4.8 facing the #2 rush game with a 5.1 YPC.

no its not. I trust Dak 1000% 2 be very close 2 100%. I expect a ton of Zeke and Pollard in this next game.

To me and my strictly amateur's opinion, its affect on a QB is maybe lessened that its affect on a WR.

Hopefully he can play with it.

Sure.

I wouldn’t say it’s a non issue. We haven’t seen the MRI reports yet. Calf strains are an issue depending on severity of it. The fact it’s on same leg as his ankle injury should provide some concern.

But some fans choose to totally play it down for some reason.

Why worry about what we can't change? If it's a problem, it's a problem. They said it's not a problem and until we see otherwise there is no point in panicking. Could they be lying? Sure. I'd rather treat it as a non-issue until I see it affecting Dak's play.

Because that’s what we do on a fan forum. Discuss concerns .

Hey, if you aren’t worried about seeing our QB needing help walking off the field and in a boot cask needing an MRI. Good for you.

But any injury to our QB should be a concern and worthy of discussion.

Given it was the same leg, of course they were going to do an MRI. They're doing what they can to minimize risk and make sure he heals. Of course he's going to be in a boot. While I believe the Cowboys front office would lie about it, I don't think Dak would. He's a competitor and if he says he can play, he can play. If this is revisited in a week and he's suddenly listed as questionable, that's when I'll worry.

I think he’ll be ready for Minnesota. If not, I’m confident the coaches will have Rush ready. The one good think that had happened since MM took over is depth and coaching guys up…

This team, and organization feel different…

I been waiting to hear Will Grier has overtaken Rush as qb2. I dont know much about him, but I think I have a good idea on Rush and my opinion isn't favorable. Maybe the coaches make a big difference though?

Understood. I still think it’s worthy of concern and discussion. But like anything else not every subject is of interest or issue of concern. Appreciate your comments.

In a bye week it’s at the top of my list of concerns at this point.

Hoping we get more info today. Didn’t like to see him limping so quickly after the game. That means it was real sore the next day. Maybe the protective gear he was wearing makes it harder to walk or stiffens the area of the leg and made the limp look worse.

I followed Grier at West Virginia and lobbied for us to draft him.

Having been in a walking boot a couple of times, I can attest to the fact that it makes you look worse than you are.

Yea, I didnt even notice after the game . But I saw on Twitter where he actually needed help walking off the field. Hopefully it’s only a slight strain but not sure why this topic isn’t being well received .

It’s a hot topic locally in the press and media.
