Most likely losing Moore next year

You said it... Moore is coveted in Dallas. The Jones Boys are invested in KM's future. There is simply no way they just let him walk to another team. People need to understand this before they start their foolish talk about Km taking a HC job somewhere else.
As things are, where would he go? Vegas? Miami? I don't think there's a better job for him than Dallas. His offense would already be in place, hell, he could still run the offense.

I love Moore the OC, but if he decides to leave and take a HC job next year I'm good with it.
I like McCarthy as the HC. Under previous coaches there is little chance they win that sloppy NE game.
12 penalties and two turnovers, sloppy play yet they found a way to win.
Have people forgotten how soft the culture has been in Dallas since Jimmy?
Stick with the guy that has a championship on his resume and seldom misses the playoffs with a healthy franchise QB.

Could the set up be in place for Moore to take over the Cowboys and McC move on in 2 years because he will have redeemed himself as a HC? If guys like Fox and Turner can land 4 or 5 HC gigs, McC could do the same by being successful here.

Do you also think it possible that maybe part of that interview process was the discussion of long term goals for McC and the team? McC isn't a Dallas guy, he's a PA guy, the South isn't his bag. Were either Booger or McC looking for a long term situation here? They both had a problem and each could be the solution for the other.

Don't you think that's the situation in NE with McDaniels, just waiting to slide over? Why couldn't Dallas have the same arrangement, think Booger and Kraft haven't talked about this?

Yes, I know it's pure speculation (and for the very first time by me!) but I do not believe that 12 hour interview that ended in the job being offered and taken was anything close to ordinary and there was an understanding reached in that meeting that none of us are aware of nor should we be.

One thing I do not agree with is that Booger is too old to groom Moore as a HC. I think that is already in motion and he failed with Garrett and he's a risk taker and he never stays down, he always gets back up. He will have "his coach".

This offense isn’t clicking because Moore is tricking everyone with a brand new offense. He’s still running lots of what Garrett installed. He’s added some from McCarthy, and I’m sure he’s added some things he’s seen from other teams, but this is the same offense he ran under Garrett and last year under McCarthy. Still not running RPOs or rub routes much, which is why we still struggle in the red zone where most teams run those all the time because teams are in man coverage.

Dak is the primary reason this offense has taken off, and I’m not talking about his arm talent. Dak knows this offense so well now that he is putting us in run plays or pass plays as dictated by the defense. When every announcer who’s played the game is saying that Dak is in total command, they are not talking about his arm strength or accuracy. They are talking about the fact that he is calling audibles all game long and getting us into the best plays with his pre-snap reads.

I love Moore as our OC because he and Dak are in it together and we are winning, but this is the same guy who called the offense for Andy Dalton last year. With a healthy OL, QB, TEs, and our receivers, any decent OC would have it clicking. How would Moore’s offense be doing in Jacksonville or Detroit or Washington?

Excellent perspective!!

So let’s assume after a successful second season , Jethro doesn’t want to lose Moore.

How exactly would they tear up Mikes 5 year contract? Cause he can’t interview with other teams under contract.

Unless of course Jethro gives permission. You might be on to something here my friend. Very keen insight !

Moore isn't going anywhere. People have been saying that Will McClay is leaving this year for the last 15 years. Yet he is still here.

Romo said it a couple times yesterday during the broadcast that there’s no way Moore doesn’t become a HC next year.

So, most of my close Cowboy friends here locally are not happy with McCarthy despite the success we’re having . We all are excited about Moore and agree with Romo that he will be highly sought after next year.

Hopefully we will name Moore our HC next year before someone else does.
He is a bright kid with limited duties. It allows his skill set to shine and become refined. Is he ready to be a leader of an organization at this point in his career? Doubtful.
