No doubt. He should get his chance. And he got a pass last year, deservedly so.

But the hype for this team is moving up quickly and I doubt anything less than a championship appearance will suffice.

Depending how we fizzle out should provide another shot. Unless of course Jethro has to choose between him and Moore. How the season ends is critical.

Agree 100%.......

I'm not confident that Mccarthy is that guy yet. If I remember right, JG once went 5-1 with a rookie dak.

What will change my mind? A nfccg birth. I don't want to settle for playoffs or 8-8 anymore. I want to taste success once again.

Who here is with me?

Not me.

The strawman argument of the NFC Championship game sets a standard we don't know can be met with any head coach because of the unknown. We saw last year what one play can do to an offense that was putting up record numbers.

So when you base your position on future results, and if it is not met then the head coach stinks, you exclude so many possibilities which could influence the outcome of this season in a negative way beyond control of the head coach.

I agree with the wanting to taste success. But at this juncture, it truly is one game at a time. And you setting a criteria so far in the future for what you will accept as success is patently unfair since McCarthy could well call a perfect play-off series of games, and one play, one bad call (Minnesota/New Orleans) could steal the team and head coach's destiny.

We all just witnessed a bad call nearly changing the outcome of the game against the Patriots.

who said we're gonna lose in the play-offs?
we're only at the bye week.
but if this team keeps playing like it is...
nobody wants to play us.
we have a real shot...first in a LONG time.
I agree . But just saying . The fact we have a better shot will be even a tougher pill to swallow.

Another McCarthy post, these are starting to get old. But to comment, this team hasn't been this focused and disciplined in a very long time. Great sign of a great culture. Yet, of course, someone will always complain. It's easy to complain, takes no effort.

Pretty much the title tells you the content inside.

Don't read them.

Nobody is confident in McCarthy besides a few homers but I’ll say this about the guy. He’s miles better than Garrett.

Garrett's approval rating was sky high in 2016.

I'm not shocked folks are letting 5-1 color their perspective.

MEANWHILE....
I complain about him but please believe after 10 years of Jason Garrett I’m just happy it’s not him and I’m very thankful but my gosh McCarthy can turn a game into a circus.
By turning a once dead squad into super heroes!

A couple plays away from being undefeated. We've played some solid teams and they find ways to win. The attitude is completely different that recent past teams.

I’m a “homer” because I’m rooting for the guy to succeed and we’re 5-1

Its okay to be happy with 5-1 imo and I get the love.

I just think its way too early to call him better than Parcells (which I saw happen on this forum)

Never thought anyone would go there, but sure enough. M&M cannot shine Parcells shoes.

No coach is safe. Hell, if Tom Landry can be fired and Andy Reid can be run out of Philly, then MM certainly isn’t sitting on some golden throne as an emperor. So yeah, he’s still got to earn his keep, just like all coaches.

I think the "few homers" ( yes I'm one ) are simply saying give the guy a chance. As with most coaches, he got a pass for 2020 but I haven't seen/heard one poster that hasn't said no excuses for 2021. He's 5-1 so far, in my book that's a great start. If supporting him the rest of this season makes me a homer, I'll take it. (LOL)

Some people who post here get so pissed when people here root for the Cowboys. Pretty comical haha.

Yeah that makes perfect sense.. so lets compare the freckled puppet to a super bowl winning coach who has the highest percentages of wins in post season play in Green Bay history... My son's needs a tutor you available?
