Expect Kazee to get a 3 game suspension with no pay for his DUI. Read below...especially what is in bold towards the bottom...

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2020 | ORIGINAL: MAR 15, 2020

New NFL CBA Makes Changes to Drug Policy

Read what changes were made to the NFL's drug policy under the new CBA...

The NFLPA narrowly approved the new collective bargaining agreement, meaning there will be no work stoppage in the NFL for the next decade.

The vote was razor-thin, as the agreement only passed by 60 votes -- 1,019 to 959.

As a result of the approval, the NFL has now secured 10 years of labor peace, the regular season has been expanded to 17 games and the playoff field has been increased from 12 to 14 teams.

Another change to the CBA involves the NFL's drug policy.

The new CBA eliminates suspensions for positive marijuana tests.

The testing period has been limited to the first two weeks of training camp, and the threshold for a positive test has been raised from 35 to 150 nanograms of THC.

And the punishment for DUIs has been increased to a three-game suspension.

Marcus Maye caused an accident and charged with a DUI in February. League didn’t find out until a few weeks back. He’s still allowed to play as of now. If Kazee is immediately suspended just proves the league is crooked

Maybe but it appears with DUIs the league let’s the court system rule first and then make their decision. That’s why Maye still hasn’t faced league discipline. I suspect unless Kazee gets an expediated court hearing or pleads, he’s likely going to see this thing carry into 2022 before the league acts.

100% agree. If they’re asking you for the sobriety test. You’re definitely taking a ride to get blood drawn after. Lol

Hell even a fully sober person might fail a sobriety test anyway at 3 am depending on how hard they been at it all day.. We've all been tired as hell behind the wheel and if we were asked to some complicated roadside gymnastics probably couldn't pull it off. Again, I don't drink.. never have.. lost my grandmother and one of my best friends when they were hit by drunk drivers. I have no special affinity for drunk drivers.. But I try to keep things in perspective. This kid made an error in judgement.. It happens.. I aint about to crucify him for it. Hopefully he learns from it.. He got a lesson that will cost him money.. but didn't cost anything truly valuable.. like a life.

If walking a straight line is still a test I could easily fail that if I have to do it right after standing up at times. I have vertigo

He'll be back soon, no worries. BTW, I'm against drinking while under the influence.

I'd be willing to bet that since the dawn of time anybody who did a "field sobriety test" failed that test in the eyes of the tester.
I've been given a couple of field sobriety tests and breathalyzers that I passed. Still went to jail after one of those for something else, but I ended up getting off on that charge because I didn't actually break a law.

They are absolutely kids. When you are 20-30 those are the years you learn how to be an adult and mistakes are going to happen and they are going to happen often. The latest neurological research has strong evidence indicating that modern human brains aren’t done developing until the mid-20’s. Kazee is 28. He’s barely passed beyond that point and still has a ton to learn about life.

Expecting a developing brain and inexperienced brain to make decisions based on the actions of say, a 40 - 50 y/o brain, is piss-poor expectations borne out of unsound reasoning. He made a mistake like tens of millions of other Americans, some far older than him, have made. He will learn from it. Crucifying him is the last thing that needs to be done. He will pay his fines and suffer the consequences of having a DUI on his record. He doesn’t, on top of that, need to also self-flagellate himself to appease self-righteous onlookers who need a show while they tsk-tsk at him in disgust.
That’s pure garbage. If you’re 28, you’re 100% responsible for your actions. Stop making excuses for these guys.

DWI isn’t a good thing but in terms of his availability on the field he’ll be fine this season. The NFL doesn’t suspend until the courts make their decision, which will take months.

Honestly a good warning to other guys on the team to play it safe this week.

Maybe I missed something....did him getting CHARGED with a DWI trash the Cowboys chance of having a great season and making the playoffs??? Is he irreplaceable? Is he the Dak Prescott of the defense....the straw that stirs the drink....el Jefe...the leader????
Gimme a break...there’s only a couple players on this team that are irreplaceable and he ain’t even close to being one
He’s not the first nor the last. Nobody likes drunk drivers but nobody died or was injured thankfully
Learn and move on

Ummmmmm, when did even talk about Kazee in my post? I was responding to the "it could happen to anybody" terrible, terrible take.

But to address Kazee situation directly, if he comes back with a 0.0000000 (whatever) breathalyzer, then good for him. No harm no foul. Stuff happens.

But if he blew anything close to the legal limit, it was still a bad decision that is inexcusable even if we was not "legally impaired". Doesn't mean he should be thrown off the edge of the world, but he should face the consequences for his actions and hopefully he learns from it.

I'm just not a fan for making any excuse that "normalizes" DWI.

Feel free to disagree, but we won't ever agree if your take is DWI happens all the time and it's fine.
I agree, he should face the consequences. Be a man and then sign a team-friendly contract for 2022. :D

But even then the comparison Ronnie is making doesn’t make much sense. Kazee isn’t in trouble for drinking. He’s in trouble for operating a car while drunk. So a DUI isn’t the same thing as just smoking a joint.

Put it another way, if Kazee was high and got pulled over, he’d be in trouble for operating a vehicle while high, not the act of just smoking some weed.
I agree that is why I said it falls under personal conduct which gives Goodell discretion. No different if he got into a fight outside a club.
