Well, verbally abusing a ref isn't a personal foul. That would have been called unsportsmanlike conduct. I thought the way it was explained was that they were both live ball fouls, so NE could only accept one, so they accepted the 15 yd one.

If true, that was completely stupid. The holding penalty would have made it 2nd and 20 which is not good. However, he made the situation even worse with the dead ball penalty that made it 3rd and 25 instead. He cost us a down and an extra 5 yards because he didn't crawl back into the huddle and get ready for the next play. Not sure why he was upset with the official because it was an obvious holding penalty. He should be upset with himself for allowing the defensive guy to put him in a position to need to hold. He's lucky that Dak, Ceedee, and Zuerlein bailed him out.

The 2 Patriots DL essentially ran a pick play, which they had been doing a lot during this game. Williams was slow to react.

Man I remember Bart Scott launching the flag after the Pats scored. Loved it, because they were getting hosed on every call that night and the officials deserved the criticism after that game.

Williams had a very bad day against NE and their DTs are nothing special. I worry about him facing Jonathan Allen and Payne.

My reference to Connor Williams being an embarrassment was about him leading the entire league in holding penalties. I don’t have any idea why you turned that into an insult about me and employees and my employment history- something you know absolutely zero about. Not an insult, just an observation.....a guy get a few holding penalties and argues with a short tempered ref about it and he's an embarrassment.....I don't think so...again, it's an observation and opinion....take it any way you want.

The New England game was littered with garbage calls/no calls for both teams. But instead of holding them accountable for their performance, we have people more concerned with the ref hearing a bunch of hurt words. This isn't Sunday church. Grown men battling for hours at the point of attack get a little pissy when calls are being blown. The World is getting soft.

He blocked his guy and saw a free rusher that was going to get his qb. So he did what he was suppose to and tried to stop the free rusher.

I think Connor Williams sucks donkey you know what. But that particular holding call was worth it - that guy was going to crush Dak. Connor missed his assignment again and had to protect Dak as the price.

I agree that mouthing off to refs is stupid and shouldn't be allowed, but I don't like that they're going to be throwing flags for it. Another very subjective rule that has the potential to change games. The less black and white penalties, the better.
