Is Anyone Getting a Little Worried About Dak's Injuries?

Russell Wilson was probably the most durable active QB for many years, but a finger will cost him to likely miss several games.
Injuries happen ...will happen.

The best thing for us to do is prepare is have an adequate, functional backup reserve, .in the event our starting QB does strain a calf serious enough to
cause him to miss several games .. or an a concussion, ..or strained shoulder that could put him out a couple or three games.

Could we survive with a mere Cooper Rush for 3 games,..if that so happens ?

Exactly injuries will happen....honestly I think rush could hold it down this year with our schedule....we only have 3 teams left over 500..

I'm curious to get some sort of information how Grier is coming along in his development. Haven't heard anything on him lately. Of course, I'd have to assume he's not ready to assume the #1 backup spot until next year, though. Still can't help but to be curious how he's coming along. Anyone heard?

For his 1st 4 years, he never missed a game. He was a tank. But starting last year, he missed most the year. Needed 2 surgeries on his ankle. Then gets a new injury in his shoulder in the offseason. And now a calf strain. I am not going to start comparing him to Romo at all but I hope we don't see these injuries start to pop up every year and we get to what Romo became where it was always something every season. This is what separated him from Romo.
Ankle injury was a freak injury.
Calf is probably related to ankle at some level.
Yes there is a bit of concern to be honest. In the past he probably would have missed through October. I mean look at Burrow he came back from a torn ACL in less than a year.
Some players get injured more than others it just is what it is.
I think the Cowboys offense needs to get more efficient, start converting all the yards to TD's. They should have beaten the Pats by 17 points. Hopefully they get more efficient and then won't need Dak to play Superman.

A lot worried. His strained calf is a minor injury that can be made worse if he doesn't allow it to heal properly. The team's stated goal of getting him ready to play against the Vikings seems like a bad idea to me. I fear Dak will only make his injury worse and thus miss even more games. I think the proper course of action, out of an abundance of caution is to sit Dak out of the next two games.
Precisely. We talk about Romo injuries....and he did the same thing you are pointing out here....playing injured doesn't lead to healing....it leads to more injuries. Romo either played through or came back too early. The dedication is a nice trait, but...well...risky.

People actin like this is nothing...just trying to look cool. And they of course have seen and can read x-rays and MRI's.

I'm with you Joe.....if there is doubt....the bye week and a game....would be a great time for some real healing....we need him healthy later not playing injured now.

It’s not yet at a concerning level but it is something to watch. That ankle injury put him out for a bit and it takes time to reacclimate the body and during this time there’s a heightened risk of injury. He’s had some niggles but nothing that is game changing issue or that points to injury prone.

Dak is a tough dude but I am sure that leg hasn't been 100% ready for real football action. If he gets through the year without missing any games because of soreness/strains etc, we'll be lucky. So far so good, hopefully he bounces back from the calf pretty fast. Glad it was a Bye week.

No it is football, players will play with all sorts of aliments it is part of the deal when they started playing. Most players will not be 100% by the end of the season. Clearly if the medical staff feels this is something that Dak need to sit then they will sit him if not then he will play. If the only time a player played this game is when he was 100% you would not have enough players to fill a team. It is the nature of the game.

Pffft. Put him out there in his boot and tell him to stop whining. This is the NFL.

He is not whining, funny in the post game he laughed and told the media to have fun with this. Knowing damn well this would be built up by media and fans.

I’m not nervous at this point. He spent last off-season rehabbing which means he didn’t really get to rest of strengthen and condition support muscles. I expect him to limp through this season. But, as long as nothing major happens, I think he’s good as new next year. Big bodied guy like Dak can take a lot more abuse and bounce back. Look how long Raplesburger has done it.

This.. I talked about it after the Tampa game because he was noticeably slower running that night. The man was unable to do much anything with that right leg for the better part of 6 months. His legs will probably take at least a year to get back to the strength and elasticity level they were at pre-injury. They may look the same, but they're not. This calf strain is most likely an artifact of the layoff on the leg. It doesn't sound like it's serious.. but Dak has played through injuries before. He banged his hand on a defender's helmet and played through that. He played through the banged up shoulder when Aaron Donald pile drived him against the Rams.. no penalty was called by the way.. Wonder why? Guys get dinged up playing this game.. As long as it's not structural it's nothing to worry about.

The thing about a calf strain is it could keep coming back if it doesn’t heal.

Im sure he will feel fine but one wrong move and the scar tissue will break and it’s a never ending cycle until it’s fully healed.

I believe that his strain isn’t serious but It’s wait and see if it goes away.

The MRI came back clean supposedly so that’s great news.

Ironically I had a calf strain last year .. got me when I first started back running after all the gyms shut down due to Covid. I tried to fight through it at first then I went out and bought one of those copper fit calf sleeves and VIOLA!!! problem solved. Now I'm only 195 and just do straight line sprints but those sleeves work magic on soft tissue injuries such as that. I'm also 32 years older than Dak so I would expect his healing power to kick mine in the toosh..

No. A person that’s had to face a good amount of adversity in life is the last person I’d worry about having to face a little adversity. Injuries happen.

Part of the game...we need an upgrade at backup, that's what I'm worried about
The Super Bowl runs through Dak. I'm not buying losing him for another season, or paying for a seasoned veteran this season. Dallas may need to get serious as to development, this next draft.

Im dealing with one right now and I strained it a little over a month ago. Mine was really bad. Couldn’t walk for a couple of days like I was shot. I felt a pop when it happened.

Ive been rehabbing it and it’s felt pretty good recently and went to Vegas this past weekend and I tweaked it somehow.

Im very active so this thing has been super frustrating.

I had my injury a week before Gallup and Gallup was standing up on the sideline when he got his. Mine was impossible to stand so I’ve always told myself I should be good 2 weeks after Gallup comes back, haha.

I'd feel better with Cam or Foles than Rush or DiNucci
