Of course Jethro will try to keep all of the pieces together but actually succeeding in preventing asst coaches from bolting to HC positions may be too much to ask for.

Just read an article where Jon Gruden and Sean Payton were saying it's not as easy it seems. A lot of issues go through your mind/head with little time to make decisions. Jerry said yesterday that MM and coaches even practice different time management scenarios for games ( I didn't know that). When you think about it they (coaches ) have what, 30 seconds to a min to make most decisions.

Honest question....do think he confers with his assist HC, and/or coordinators for their input?
I was thinking along the same lines.

HC has a ton to do/monitor. That's just one thing. And it's mostly not anywhere as clear cut as many want to make it seem.

Id take any of them over Garrett, Campo, Gailey etc......they have RINGS!!!!! Thats the ultimate goal....
So would I but I do not consider any of those three above average. That's akin to citing McMahon, Dilfer and Johnson as above average QB's.

The rings are not the only measurement because I would take Bud Grant and Marv Levy over those 3 HC's and they went ringless.

I don't bash him, he's had some questionable time management issues, but he's had the team ready to go. I think he's doing a good job.

I don't have a problem with how often he goes for it. I love going for it on 4th and short no matter where we are on the field. Some of the play calls I don't agree with. But sometimes he makes me scratch my head on when he does and doesn't go for it. Like in the NE game. He went for it around our own 35 but settled for a FG on 4th and 1 with a few minutes left in the game. Same as the Rams game last year.

because he is fat, and people just like to bash
i’ll never understand why they bash with fat mike and big fat mike
Hell, even Bayless trashed him for his weight. Bet he struggled with John Candy, Chris Farley and Pavarotti.

Funny how McC gets the weight thing and Reid escapes it. Parcells, "The Moober", didn't catch as much heat.

Levy and Grant never won a SB......they will always be remembered for being losers, not deserved, but it is what it is......show me the ring!

Just tried to thank you for the clarification and hope you are doing well. It was marked as spam......again, thank you.

I started another thread along these same lines about do we even know what that job entails? These HC's all seem to have their own "loose leash/tight leash" with their staffs and their own level of hands on.

I remember seeing Jimmy line up at DE or OT in his shorts to illustrate a point to his players.

I do know one thing. Sitting on my couch all relaxed and having a toddy makes those calls a lot easier than being in the middle of it and I think there are times where there are many mouths in the ears of the HC.

I think all of the angst over might what happen is wasted. Until that happens and it affects us I am not concerned and for the most part, McC gets backup form other on some of his decisions.

As far as going for it from his own 34 against a rookie QB and an inferior team, hell yes, all day, every day. He has the hammer, use it.

They are both Hall of Farmers.

The fans who see them as losers represent the casual type fans and troll like behavior often referred to.

That's fine for simple fans, but a poor way to judge HC's as a standalone facet.

I agree, but they never won the big one....isn't that the argument many of our fans hold against Romo

I'm bigger than MM and only low self esteem individuals hiding behind a keyboard would dare to call me names.....makes then feel tough or better about their shortcomings, I guess....
No joke? You still get butthurt over name calling?

I admit that I bash him over time management issues and some questionable calls…but Buffalo lost because of their coach, Andy Reid is a terrible time manager. I guess it is what it is. But there is no denying he turned this team into a contender in 1 season and only 1 real off-season to do this…and this offence was essentially the same players JG had, minus Lamb.
Go Cowboys…
