What's up with the McCarthy bashing?

Hell, even Bayless trashed him for his weight. Bet he struggled with John Candy, Chris Farley and Pavarotti.

Funny how McC gets the weight thing and Reid escapes it. Parcells, "The Moober", didn't catch as much heat.
Reid constantly looks like he's going to stroke out any second.

People who mock McCarthy for his weight are probably sketchy human beings.

I do, I have zero respect for name calling....I saw many kids being bullied, including myself because I was bug and stuttered.....I don't like it
Nobody likes derogatory name calling or criminal bullying. But being bullied or name calling is all part of growing up . How you deal with it makes all the difference. Some kids need their butts whipped. Kids can be cruel but generally are resilient.

Especially with HOW he won it. People want tobring up Barry but he literally woke up and won a SB with Jimmy's team. With a dynasty in place. This team surely wasn't a dynasty before Mike came here.

Not saying they are headed towards a dynasty, that's a tall order. BUT this team is headed in a very good direction. It's nice to see fans actually excited about the direction of the roster. Yes in the past we saw good players, but a direction this positive since the Jerry years? Never! certainly not after Jerry got his fingers on the 2007 team. As well as the 14 and 16 teams. The 53 was never good enough.. even if Dez catches the football? There was definitely no confidence at all beyond that point. That was the culture here and it's a huge difference today. Bringing up Barry Switzer is laughable, there is no correlation at all.

I don't bash him, he's had some questionable time management issues, but he's had the team ready to go. I think he's doing a good job.

This is exactly it. He's gotten his team ready to play, and they're playing well. We're on top of the division and are playing like a playoff team. There have been some time management gaffes, but we'll see if he improves in that area. This season thus far is a whole lot better than a lot of recent Cowboys seasons.

One thing I have to congratulate McC on is his Cowboys attire is well sized and chosen for him . I have visited the Cowboys official Pro Shop at the Star and other outlets across the area and never seen anything beyond 2XL in most of the gear.

They must Taylor specific large sizes for him. They really cover him up well. The long sleeve grey shirt with a Blue Star on it he had on the other day in new conference fit him so well.

I’ve put on a little weight in my later years and would love to have access to the size and selection he’s getting .

Stop shopping the bargain bin. I wear 3X tall....no issues...I get great deals on my size 15 shoes, too.

Only thing I see him get bashed for is his clock management and questionable in game management. Which he should be bashed for.

I can tell you that I never expected MM to look so lost with clock management. Looks like he has never done it before.

And he doesn't do a lot of in game management. He has an excellent OC and DC that does most of that for him... Maybe he needs his OC and DC to tap him on the shoulder to call a time out quicker than he is...

What I will also say is I haven't seen a coach with as much absolute respect from every player as I have with MM in a long time. They certainly didn't respect Garrett.

Dude is the same average HC he always was. Exactly what were you guys expecting?
Wouldn't call him average. He has one of the better resumes in the NFL. At the time of the hiring, his record in the regular season and playoffs was near identical to Sean Paytons. His issue is that he fell off to the point of being fired in GB.

As far as his performance this year, he has managed the team very well. Game management has been where issues have propped up. Crucial clock management gaffes have been consistent this year. If we fall off and fail to win 11 games, he could be in trouble

I don't see it that way at all. Reid is average. Maybe slightly above average.

HC's get elevated after winning a super bowl. Doesn't mean they deserve it.

Jeff Fischer should've won one. Is he great? Gary Kubiak, Mike Tomlin. All average.
Andy Reid has a 63% percentage win rate, and has been to three straight conference championships on two separate occasions. He is definitely not "average" lmao

Barry Switzer?
MM should have had a least a couple with Rodgers

And Shula should have had at least one with Marino. Dungy should have had more than one with Manning. ...

It takes more than a quarterback, no matter how good the quarterback is. Landry didn't win Super Bowls just because he had Staubach. Dallas built one of the best defenses and had one of the best running games ... and back then, you could actually keep those units together for years.

So you are saying Garrett was a good to great coach.. he had a team at 5-1 with a rookie QB..

Exactly. People are just looking at the record and leaping to "MM is doing a good enough job, leave him alone." Nope. We're not just looking at the record, but the process. Hec, they should (or easily could) have beat the Bucs, if he would have calculated that giving the ball back to Brady with TOs and over 90 seconds, needing only a FG to win the game, the offense needed to remain aggressive all 3 downs to make sure to keep getting first downs. Nope, they grew incredibly conservative, ran the ball out of known Cowboy running formations, settled for the long-ish FG...and well, the rest is history.

Couple that with all his other poor in-game decisions the last few weeks, and I think the Cowboys are winning in spite of bad coaching. And technically, you take away even half of Diggs' interceptions, and this team is likely .500

So, being consistent, I didn't praise Garrett when his team with a rookie QB was 5-1, because even then you could see Garrett not being a solid in-game HC. And in the playoffs, you just can't afford to get outcoached. A stalemate is fine, but routinely, the Cowboys seemingly get outcoached.

And thus the trend right now with Mike is he will likely get outcoached in the playoffs, and that will easily cost the team a chance to move forward.

So, yes, happy the Cowboys are 5-1, but I don't see some dramatic culture change. Dak leads like he always does, and Moore is improving (all expected). The culture change could be on defense, but even then, I still see MOST of the defensive team's success riding on Diggs' interceptions, and some great forced fumbles. Turnovers are great, but we'll see if this defense will look legit as the seasons grind on, and the turnovers subside.

You’ve seen that size at the official Cowboys sports shops in the Metroplex?

And if you’ve been there you know they aren’t the bargain bins .

Funny thing is Rodgers get no blame and he has said he did not like the play sent in and he would change the call, did that lead them to a SB and if not then as the de facto play caller doesn't he share in the blame? Has it been a case that Rodgers changed the plays to fatten his own stats?
