Yeah I don't know why it's considered baltimore City. We play softball at Bauchman, by the prison.
Baltimore City is the only place in the state for Full Nude clubs. everywhere else G-strings and pasties.

Basically the land the mall and and the waterfront sit on is commercial. There are houses nearby but that is not considered columbia for crime stats.

True but it's columbia, townhouses and condos.

I graduated from Hammond, Oakland mills was pretty bad, along with Wilde Lake. Once they Built Long Reach a lot of the worst ones from Howard and Oakland Mills bascially area between 108 and 175 is the problem areas. I know the area over in Owen Brown was pretty bad.

We pulled my youngest from Oakland Mills and put him in Howard. I forgot about Hammond, that district is building up.

Dude this happen everywhere it happens in Dallas, I'm still in Maryland been here all my life, spend plenty time all over the city, I'm 49, I travel there everyday, it's not much different than other cities that have good areas and bad areas.

no it doesn’t; not to the level it does in Baltimore…just go look at the data on highest murder rates and most violent crimes per capita.

You can try and say it is bad everywhere (or there are bad spots everywhere), but the facts are (numerical/statistical) that Baltimore is one of the most violent and dangerous cities in the country. Again, i lived there for a decade, saw all of this first hand, and have lived in other major cities (Dallas, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Charlotte) and they are far less violent vs Baltimore - but regardless of my own personal experience i can read and see in the actual reported numbers the confirmation of the actuality.

For the life of me, i don't know why some of you cant just look at the statistics reported on violent crime and murders, and acknowledge that Baltimore is a more dangerous city than other cities in the US.

Its a fact, backed up by strong statistical evidence

I understand but the way Rouse Company runs Columbia they basically insulated Columbia from the crime stats. While the areas like Long Reach Village, Oakland Mills Village and Wilde Lake Village have the higher occurrences of crime. I lived in Huntington area of Columbia and we found a dead body behind the highs when were in high school, stabbing or shooting not sure. But it never made the murder numbers that year when the Columbia Flyer boasted about Zero murders for 10 years in a row.

Because the statistics aren't exact, where you said you live there for a decade, I've been. Around it for my entire life and have family there , I don't care what numbers you look at,.

From my understanding is it is getting worse as the home ages start approaching 50 years old and the demographic changes in Savage and Jessup. But it looks like they are getting a new building soon which is nice.

Give it up, I lived in canton and have seen plenty of muggings- I lived there, fells and highland town along with dead city center by the bromo seltzer tower

You just won't believe the statistical evidence huh?

So there you go...using your feelings vs actual evidence...you can keep feeling its no different than other cities but reality is its a very unsafe city

You saw a mugging that means the area is bad, I saw a mugging outside the white house , doesn't mean it's a bad area , again when the last time you lived in Baltimore. I've seen none that.

It's as safe as any other city when you compare the good areas, My daughter just went to the ice capades Disney on ice Sunday, never once did she say she felt unsafe

With a crime rate of 43 per one thousand residents, Dallas has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 23.

Dallas ranks 60th highest in property crime out of the 100 most populous cities.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_crime_rate

Baltimore is 17th.

In Violent crime:
Baltimore is 3rd.
Dallas is 31st.

Not that this has anything at all to do with Knight who likely was released in Dallas because of "personal issues" and he will seek a team in Dallas or elsewhere next season.
