Hell NO.

If going to trade for a backup QB, then reach higher. Much higher.

Dalton cannot even beat out a 1st year QB.

Pathetic.
Neither could Romo, allegedly. And fields is better out the gate...although on a crappy team.

I'm well aware, but last year's Dalton performance wasn't a fluke... he's not good enough to do much for THIS team.

Blue, I totally agree. This year's line isn't the same as last year's line. Last year's opposing team's defensive lines blew right through our offensive line way too many times. Even Dak struggled at the beginning of last year because of it... We can't legitimately put all of Dalton's faults on him last year. That's not fair at all. No way I'm looking at Dalton as Dak's replacement for the year but to drive the bus while Dak fully recovers, I'd be all for it...
People using 2020 to prove a point? Ridiculous.

I know the word is there is little concern about Dak's calf strain according to the owners and Dak himself, but calf strains do take time to heal and can easily light up again if the player returns to early from recovering.

Since Dak's mobility is an important part of his game I feel like there is risk in bringing Dak back against the Vikings and usually it takes even a week or 2 after that for a player to be in the clear from reinjuring the calf.

Which is why I feel like we need to upgrade the QB2 position. It seems best to play it safe and keep Dak out at least 1 week after the bye, if not 2. And even if Dak is good to go against Minnesota, I think it's still a good idea to trade for a legit back up. Dak plays a physical game and there are still 11 games left in the regular season. Plus Dallas are serious contenders for the #1 seed and a 1st round bye. Having Cooper Rush potentially start any game puts this team at a disadvantage and could lead to losses in games he might start.

With the trade deadline coming up next week, Andy Dalton is a good trade candidate and the Bears should be looking to sell. They've clearly committed to Fields and have no 1st round pick next season or 4th rounder after trading with the Giants to take their QB.

I say, why not send a 4th rounder to Chicago to get Dalton and insurance at back up QB. Dalton is familiar with the playbook and played decent in Dallas last year considering the oline he had protecting him.

This team should be all in for a Superbowl run.

Bring Andy Dalton back to Dallas.

Every time I read the title of this thread, I lose brain cells.

Some will say the reasoning behind that statement is I self medicated through the years.

But the electroshock treatments of the 90's stemmed that tide.

Just the idea of the Redheaded popgun returning causes a nervous tick in my left eye, and an erotic desire for Joy Behar.

Please stop this insanity!

I wasn't using last year to make any point... Let's look at Garrett's last year in 2019. What did the offensive line look like then? Last year's was just as bad. I'm only talking about the line. I won't even get into how the overall offense did in 2019. I know some of the players didn't want Dalton on the team. Maybe that could be why they didn't protect him. Remember when he got knocked out? Who rushed to his aid? Nobody...

Now that they actually had a training camp under MM, I see a huge difference in how the offense plays. I think if Dalton was to come back, I honestly think he'd be treated better than last year...

Romo was better passer than Dak at that time.

But Jerry and Garrett did not want to lose the magical momentum of that incredible Cinderella story of a season.

Jimmy did same with Troy in first NFL playoffs.

It was a mistake then too.

hes better then rush or greir

Dalton knows our offense and with healthy OL and Run game etc he would be good fit to fil in when daks out.why not?

who else? Cam can he run this style of offense , not sure..

AD had his time and its time to move on. Ill rather have Cam Newton as back up at least he can run with the ball and throw some balls.

No way
Rush will get us by for a couple games if needed. I mean nobody available is much of an upgrade over Rush that I can see without giving up more than I’d be willing to give up
At this point...Can’t bring in anybody really that has more knowledge of this offense than Rush...

I like it! Its a shame we don't have a 2nd seasoned QB to support this team if Dak can't play. I'm on on the Andy train....Bring back Dalton, bring back Dalton.

The Bears will want to hang onto Dalton as their backup. I do agree though that we need an upgrade at backup.
