Seems like a good week for a report card. These are the PFF grades and ranking through week 6.

Player Grade. / Rank at position

Dak 83./ 10
Pollard. 90./ 1
Zeke. 75. / 15
CDEE. 81. / 8
amari. 73. / 33
Schultz. 89. / 2
Jarwin. 62. / 35
Biadez. 56 / 27
Zach. 94. / 1
CWilliams. 75. / 12
Tyron. 92./ 2
Steele. 68. / 29

Here is my take on the grades. Remember that anything over a grade of 80 is pro bowl level. There are a lot of QBs having good years. So, Dak is grading out well just doesn't have the rank you might expect. Pollard is for real but doesn't have the contract or reputation to get more reps. Tyron Smith and Zach are having great years. The weak link on our OL is Biadez. He is a big step down from Freddie. We might need to go fishing for another center next draft.

Or just give him time to develop

Collins will come back and upgrade the line. He makes this a great offensive line. If he played left guard this line would be legendary.

  • Add Cedrick Wilson whose graded a solid 68.5
  • Collins I expect to grade out in the 70-90 range when playing, he has the two years prior when healthy
  • Cooper is clearly banged up and it's effecting his play. I'm hope he can get healthy over the bye and pick up a little
  • Biadasz's score is probably about right, but I do think he's trending in the right direction and has probably averaged mid 60's the last 3 weeks
  • I'm hopeful it will be the same offense next year with the only change being McGovern instead of Williams, losing Shultz the big risk/one that might hurt

I'm a little surprised Coop is that low, but then again, he hasn't really been getting a ton of targets so...
Shultz is doing everything he can to make their decision a very hard one.
Conner grading out a lot better than I'd expect, not that he's been bad, just not seeing all that good either.
Biadasz has struggled some, but hasn't been terrible. I think he needs another year gorging at the buffet and living in the weight room.
Steele has been good IMO, interesting he's graded that low. Goes to show why I don't put much stock in PFF grades but whatever.

Thanks for posting. Appreciate two future HOF O Linemen while they are still playing at very high levels.

what are the defensive grades?

Gregory: 89.6
Golston: 66.6
Odiguzuwa: 59.5
Watkins: 48.3
Urban: 47.4
Bohanna: 31.8
Parsons 66.1
LVE: 42.0
Neal: 41.9

Kearse: 71.5
Kazee: 55.4
Hooker: 55.3

Diggs: 61.9
Brown: 75.4
Lewis: 47.1

The big issue I have is:
1. The scoring is inaccurate without knowing the assignment and support
2. A single play has too little impact.

Lets use Diggs for example. Lets say the following plays occur (scoring -2 to 2):
Play 1: Man coverage, plays tight coverage on a comeback route (no target) (+1)
Play 2: Man coverage, jams at the LOS with tight coverage on a go route (no target) (+1)
Play 3: Man coverage, Play action pass underneath to the TE. Diggs' role was to gain outside leverage, pass off to zone coverage if the WR cuts inside and cover the RB out in the flat. He cuts off the outside route, and the RB stay in to block on his side. He's "beat" inside trailing his man whose wide open after the LB stepped up reading the TE. (-1)
Play 4: Zone coverage, interception (+2)

Average score of 0.75 but all were sound coverage on the one drive and one was huge winning the ball back for the drive......the scoring makes not make sense without an in-depth knowledge of information they don't have and its not accurate when a huge play can have so little impact. Guys that are consistent but lack splash plays, and only play man defense that is easy to identify benefit over a ball hawk who varies his coverage.

Cowboys need DT with 80 grade.

Even a 70 would be nice.

I don't think that Dak or Zeke guy are pulling their weight. Cut them, lol. (sarcasm)

No way Pollard should be #1 at RB. He blew a TD last game if he had just followed Zekes block!

That's just myopic!
