Coordinator jobs are usually a steppingstone to becoming a head coach. Some are better suited as coordinators but they all want the opportunity to be a head coach. The odds on Moore being here next season are pretty slim.

Really? I absolutely hated it. in fact, I think he ruined it. He didn't build the Cowboys offense back then. Sean Peyton did.

What if he chooses to stay an OC for dallas and turns down wanting to be a HC? What if he likes what he has here? You guys are so quick to believe that everyone wants to be a head coach. You guys talk as if moore doesnt have a choice and has to become a HC of the team that forces him to!

Teams cant just snatch him up, thats his choice. Moore actually seems like that guy who would actually stick with something that is going right rather than blowing it up the very next year.

Moore is young enough now where he can afford to turn down positions like that. I dont see his playcalling abilities slowing down anytime soon so he will still have offers down the line and continue to be highly saught after.

Some may say he would be stupid to turn it down but at the same time it would not shock me one bit if he did.

I get a different vibe about that guy. I think he likes it here and definitely would give dallas another go round for a couple more years. I believe the cowboys can win a SB with him and i believe he thinks that too.

That would definitely be nice to have on your resume before becoming a HC.

plus...plus.......in 2007 Jones paid red-ball more money than the HC to stay as OC....there is no cap on paying coaches....Jones would be smart to pay Moore more money to stay...McCarthey was overriden

first year....he was not allowed to bring in his own OC....Jones said Moore stays....after last years fiasco ...Jones said you wont pick your DC either we will.....you just do clock management and be my pupppet

the clock managment is a mess but he is a good puppet

total agreement...look at Giants offense?.....Garrett permanently stuck in 90's cowboy football mentality...."we just do what we do"..( even though its no good )....next man up and just beat the guy

in front of you.....i think Garrett is good emotional motivater during the week but keep him away from developing schemes

I think Kellen is smart enough to see what happened to all these other coaches who took a head coaching job to soon and flopped.
He is in a good position here and is 33 years old while the horrible meddling owner is almost 80.

Bide your time young man.
This could be be your boss soon.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Then the team wins. I hope he stays. Being a HC is also about hiring the right coaches to fill out your staff. My hope is he is buying time for the right situation so he can succeed where many fail.

What if? If he stays there is no what if.

Do not underestimate an arrangement with him like Kraft has with McDaniels once Belichick decides to hang it up.

If he and his family like where they live and who he works for, what's waiting a couple of years?

And one thing to keep in mind is that talent he has on offense. There are a lot of OC's that could have that O at #1 so the talent must always be a consideration when looking at coaching.

If he is smart, he will wait it out as long as needed until the perfect opportunity comes up. He's got a QB who hasn't even hit his prime yet and plenty of young offensive weapons. No reason to think his stock won't continue to be high every year as long as he has these players healthy

Sure, being a HC is always the goal but is it worth it to go start your coaching career on a bad team like the Lions, Jags, Jets, etc.? If he goes to a really bad team with a poor outlook and bad ownership/front office then he will just be destined to fail.

A lot of successful coaches don't reach their potential until they get fired from their first team (ex: Belichick, Dungy, Coughlin, Reid, Carroll, Arians). Actually, it might not be so bad if he left now and went to get experience/fail with another team. Bring him back in 4 years!

I think deep down he he scared S less to become a HC....not that there is anything wrong with that.
As he should be. The chances are greater that he is the next Jason Garrett than him being the next Bill Bellichik.
