It's crazy how much disrespect WR Michael Gallup is getting around here. Have fans forgotten truly how good he is and how much he has meant to the Cowboys? Jerry, McCarthy and the Cowboys would be fools to allow Michael Gallup to leave. Gallup easily would be another team's #1 starting WR. That's how good he is. Here is a reminder of how good Michael Gallup is and why the Cowboys need to find a way to keep him...

BTW, Michael Gallup led the Cowboys the past 2 seasons in 1st down receptions. In other words, Gallup is our team's best sticks mover down the field game in and game out. Plus, he tied with both Amari and CeeDee in TD receptions last year while he has led in yards average/reception the last two seasons.

Respect has nothing to do with it. Gallup is - at best - the 7th or 8th best player on the offense, and maybe no better than 10th best. In a salary cap reality, you can't pay a guy like that 8 figures, and someone will be willing to pay him that.

He's gone, and so is Tank Lawrence, unless we see a lot better results from him than the last few years. As other have said above, Gregory and Schultz will get paid, room has to be made.

I don't know what's up with this undervaluing of Cooper. Cooper is the our no 1 and I'm sure teams gameplan for him over our other receivers and he makes our other receivers jobs much easier. There's only one ball to go around, so if Cooper is drawing all the attention, that leaves Ceedee Lamb alone to do his thing.
Yeah, I kinda wonder how things would tighten up if we did not have Cooper. Gallup always got single coverage, Cooper takes 2 a lot of time. It would be a whole different dynamic.

Gallup might be the best #3 receiver in the league.. and if he isn't he's certainly in the top 5. That said, he's clearly now the #3 in Dallas. CD has passed him up.. That's not his fault but that's the reality. Since he is a more accomplished player than Wilson keeping him still makes sense at the right price.. But we all know somebody is going to throw #1 money at him.. which we absolutely cannot do. I'm not dumping Coop to keep Gallup no matter how much you people scream either.. Coop is the crafty veteran receiver that ever team needs. Who can also go off for 200 yards and 3 TDs if you sleep on him.. Gallup has never really shown that level of ability. To me this screams keep Wilson on an affordable deal and let Gallup test the waters. But none of that needs to take place until AFTER we win the Super Bowl..

You can’t pay everyone and you have to find production cheaper. That’s the key to the whole thing. He’s a good WR but it’s a tough decision the FO has to make. Specially when you’re doing ok without him at the moment and you have holes elsewhere. But paying another WR.. you just can’t do it. Lambs deal is around the corner and today’s group boils down to Cooper or Gallup heading into 22. That’s the reality of the situation.

i wish they can but not with the cap

but they really for sure should not trade gallup i do know that much!!!!!

they have a window right now i am not trading any body!!!!!

Definitely agree unless someone is willing to part with a 1st or 2nd which I highly doubt. Keep him and still end up with the compensatory pick.
