I know the word is there is little concern about Dak's calf strain according to the owners and Dak himself, but calf strains do take time to heal and can easily light up again if the player returns to early from recovering.

Since Dak's mobility is an important part of his game I feel like there is risk in bringing Dak back against the Vikings and usually it takes even a week or 2 after that for a player to be in the clear from reinjuring the calf.

Which is why I feel like we need to upgrade the QB2 position. It seems best to play it safe and keep Dak out at least 1 week after the bye, if not 2. And even if Dak is good to go against Minnesota, I think it's still a good idea to trade for a legit back up. Dak plays a physical game and there are still 11 games left in the regular season. Plus Dallas are serious contenders for the #1 seed and a 1st round bye. Having Cooper Rush potentially start any game puts this team at a disadvantage and could lead to losses in games he might start.

With the trade deadline coming up next week, Andy Dalton is a good trade candidate and the Bears should be looking to sell. They've clearly committed to Fields and have no 1st round pick next season or 4th rounder after trading with the Giants to take their QB.

I say, why not send a 4th rounder to Chicago to get Dalton and insurance at back up QB. Dalton is familiar with the playbook and played decent in Dallas last year considering the oline he had protecting him.

This team should be all in for a Superbowl run.

Bring Andy Dalton back to Dallas.

i would be totally on board...we need a better back up for sure....Dalton played good for us...he is a trooper

Here is the thing... Dalton himself isn't a bad player. He was actually very good at one time for the teams he was on.
The problem with Dalton though, is I don't think he has passion for the game now. I think the Bengals organization beat that out of him.

I think he was a wealth of information and help for Dak though when here.

Andy isn't stupid, he knows how to read defenses, and has seen a lot. I just don't think he has the drive, or the competitive mindset anymore.

I was for him the first time around, but now... I would give a crappy backup a shot first that actually wants to prove himself.
Sometimes you get more out of them than expected.

Are you blind or just deaf and dumb?

Dalton had his chance to run KM's offense last season.

He was found wanting. By a LOT.

Go get your ginger fetish elsewhere.

This Cowboys team is trying to win a SB.

This board's fascination with Andy Dalton has no end. If he was from Rhode Island he'd never even be mentioned here.

Andy Dalton? Did you watch last year? Rush is better as he can at least get a 1st down with his feet.

Aren't we....Cowboy fans tired of fake Leadership?

Andy Dalton needs to go Coach or teach high school or collegiate football. Learn to relate to today's player. Get healthy, stay fit,, keep the arm alive and maybe after 1 or 2 years, Dalton should come try out at an NFL camp.

Jon Kitna is a great example. Outstanding Coach and very good player
