Even the Bucs game they went toe to toe with Brady down to the last minutes of the game and should've won except for some missed FG's. I'm hoping that the more playing time the youngsters get under their belt, the return of some studs like D-Law will improve the defense. Then we have Gallimore, Joseph and maybe Hill to add. This defense doesn't have to be elite because Dak and the offense can carry the team but when it gets to the playoffs they will need to certainly play better. The Bucs won the Super Bowl last year more because of their defense than their offense.

The Dak love posts get old from you, what happened to it's a team effort, all those turn overs, good D, and that running game, no Dak isn't carrying the team he playing great QB so far but actually the team as a whole is doing it's job especially all those weapons he has, we know what would happen if those weapons were removed we've seen that movie already. Give the team credit that's what Dak would say too.

He's having it both ways. I gave Dak credit for a VERY good 1st game. I was worried about the injury and time off. He played great...

But he said "what do you mean he's been doing that the whole time". Well first off...I disagree with that. Dak has elevated his game...especially his awareness on the field and what he and KM want to do. VEry savvy like I have not noticed before.

But let's say it's true. Then why are we playing so well? Playing bad teams? hmm...maybe. But this team is different, even *if* Dak is "playing like he always did".

I remember when CeeDee Lamb was running wide open by 5 yards in overtime and Prescott hit him to end the game that this QB just carried the team to a victory.

Then I thought thank God he wasn't tackled inside the 10 yard line so the QB could have his 3rd turnover of the game down there.

Dak has upped it up to a gear I didn’t think he was capable of.

Is he in a perfect environment? Sure..

But the guy is making reads and throws I did not think he was capable of and it started in game 1.

Dak went from a bus driver who gets carried to a guy that is now doing a lot of the carrying.

A lot of it has to do with how comfortable he is in the offense and the chemistry he has with Kellen Moore.

Dallas better think long and hard before they just let Kellen Moore run off to NYG or whoever.

He is doing some of the carrying for sure.

The best thing about his game this year is he performs all game against good opponents and doesn’t just completely disappear like he would in the past and then go on to pad his stats against bad teams like the Giants.

But the whole thing is rolling right now and it’s not just a 1 player thing although Dak is more than living up to his end of the bargain.

Right now we lead the league in turnovers, QB pressure is great, OL is great, WRs are great, Zeke is in shape for once, Pollard is great, and both coordinators are dialed in, but McCarthy likes to keep things close for other teams so he junks it up at times.

I agree wholeheartedly but, ( you knew it was coming lol) I also believe the coaches play a huge roll in the Cowboys play. This team isn't in that Clapper's dreary mode any longer. It's as though each player was given a nookie before game time. :muttley:

Pretty standard for him, the world revolves around Dak, every other player is suspect. Dak is playing great but the total team effort is the reason for success so far. Dak's a 6th year QB being paid to be a top QB so that's what he should do with the O that he has at his disposal. Dak had his warts for a few years, he's gotten better but where he is will be determined by his play off success.

When we've lost games like that, it hasn't necessarily been because of the quarterback. Drops, pressure, etc., have killed us at times. Dak played great, but this is a team game and it took a team effort to win. Let me put it this way: Remember the receiving corps that we had before acquiring Cooper a few years back? Do you think Dak could have carried the team on his shoulders and won this game with that receiving corps? If you do, you are fooling yourself.

This offensive line, this receiving corps, this running game, this quarterback and this play-caller are all playing a major part in our offensive success. Even this defense, with its opportunistic ways, is contributing. Do we win that game without Diggs' TD return?

Now, if the defense was better overall while being opportunistic, we might not need the offense to be as great as it has had to be at times (and we'd be 6-0).
