Has the league admitted screwing up by not reviewing Dak's TD?

I don't know who started that rumor that one ref signaled a TD on the 3rd Down play but that is a boldface lie. I have the video, just watched the play, and none of the 5 or so refs who converged on the pile ever signaled TD. Ever. One ref did signal 4th Down and that was before they finished unpiling all the bodies. The only time they signaled TD was on the 4th Down play and that got reversed by replay.

So yes, I do know everything. Video proof helps.

LOL....if you like yourself that much.....

But okay...I accept that you noted no proof of a TD...on tv cameras. So smart.

I sincerely doubt @stasheroo was lying. Confusing that play with the 4th down play is probably what happened.

Being the NFLs means never having to say they are wrong

This is a league that suspends Zeke for only accusations from a known liar and gold digger but takes no action whatsoever against Deshaun Watson with 19 women accusing him of abuse

NFL.......the ultimate hypocrites on and off the field. The current regime took over a great sport that they are intent on destroying in popularity.......it should survive in spite of them
The Watson investigation is still ongoing. Credit the Texans for refusing to play him.

Still going on? Due process is one thing but that would have to be one helluva conspiracy with 2 dozen women all in on it.

Maybe the FBI is involved.........we’ve seen their track record

There isn’t as much sense of urgency for a decision from the league since Houston is refusing to let him play.

But in the other video, which would have been available if they'd reviewed the play, shows that the ball broke the plane before the knee went down. Even if you disagree with that, the point is that it was certainly close enough to get a review. I'm not disputing what the officials saw on the field. I'm saying it was ridiculous that they didn't call for a review on a call that any coach in the league would have challenged, if he'd had the opportunity.

You actually don't see the ball break anything. That is the point. And again, this is at a huge angle where you have to "assume" where the ball was. This is also not a good angle for seeing Dak's left knee come down. Romo on the broadcast mentioned right knee but it's in fact the left knee that came down and touched and then Dak propels himself forward after that. Again, if you end up 2 yards in the end zone, I think the refs are going to call that a TD but to only end up 1/2 yard in and you pushed forward a little after your knee was down and no one could clearly see the ball cross? I get it from their standpoint. They could have reviewed. It was entirely possible to have looks at all those videos and see that none of them had a clear shot of the ball so you don't say you need more time to study them and let play continue.

Marcus, I appreciate your dedication to calling out the fans when they whine about officiating, however you are wrong in this case. you do realize this photo is at the end of the play after the o line has been pushed back well after the score. Steele is 3 yards past the line of scrimmage on the ground and the guard’s entire body is at the bottom of a pile 2 yards in the end zone. Dak is already a yard into the end zone before McGovern even makes it halfway to his position in this photo. McGovern was lined up at fullback 4 yards deep. It was a TD.

No, I have the video and this photo was taken from it advancing on a frame-by-frame basis. Where the other players are is irrelevant. I only watched Dak's body and cut it where his knee came down. As I've said, he probably scored but with that sideline view and nothing definitive on any of the looks to overturn that, I get not calling it a TD. This is why you use your battering ram of a RB down there. 2 plays to get several inches.

We're just going to have to disagree on this one.

They often seem to need other opinions, just to get it right.
It didn't used to be that way, but the refs are graded. So if you think about it, wouldn't you do the same? Now they won't pull the trigger and make a call.

Just peel them off one by one and if the ball is over the line than call it a TD. They can then review the film later to try and disprove it.

Usually that’s how it works if they’re over the line when they peel everyone off they call it a TD. That happens a lot. Apparently he wasn’t over the line when they peeled everyone off. Regardless we won the game.

Honestly, I'm one of those people who's more concerned with the calls being correct than the time it takes to make that happen. Life isn't fair, but nationally televised sports should be. :)

I think they're trying to get it right, but the water's are muddied.

The league should stay out of it until there is a court ruling.

They have to stop suspending their own talent because of accusations.

Houston can do whatever they want but the league should get out of the business of being the judge and jury.

I’m sorry but the league has to protect their image which translates to revenue.

I haven't seen a thread on this, so either there are too many threads or they haven't admitted their mistake.

There hasn’t been any threads on it because we won the game. It’s silly getting upset about a call or no call in a game we ended up winning. Had we lost there would’ve been countless discussions about it.

I think the issue was there was no clear shot at where the ball was
The goal line on a run play is really so congested you can see well
Technology could tell if the ball crossed the goal line but isn’t very valuable at telling you if a player is down

The shot from above had him on top of guys and over the goal line unless he was holding the ball with his cleats. We were jobbed.

It's okay....we won. Every win in the NFL is SO valuable. It's usually just one win that decides the division or playoff seeding. In past seasons, it feels like we would've lost to both the LAC and the Pats.

I HATE that they didn't tell us the calf strain grade. If it was a Grade 1, I would think they'd have said that given the average recovery time for that injury.
