Such a weird class

-AJ Terrell has really come in this year, and saved the first round class form an 0fer.

-Most of the rest of the 1st round class has not only looked but, but borderline unplayable. In fact Igbinoghene has been getting DNP's

-Diggs is the alpha of the class. Jaylon Johnson, AJ Terrell and Kristian Fulton make this a strong class. 4 CB's that have shown Pro Powl caliber potential. Like Terrell, Fulton has really came on this year.

- Johnson was drafted in the mid 2nd, one pick before Diggs. Fulton with the 2nd to last pick in the 2nd. Talk about misevalution when you consider guys like Arnett, Igbinoghene, and Gladney went in the 1st

-I don't think I have seen a position group look so bad at the top, and still end up being a strong class. Maybe the pandemic predaft process played a part. I do think Diggs and Fulton got over scrutinized, both were 1st round caliber players, and neither should have lasted past the 40's

A follow up: As far as how bad the 1st round class has been, how comfortable would you feel playing any of, Okudah (if healthy), Henderson, Arnett, Igbinoghene, or Gladney over Anthony Brown?

Henderson has the tools to be a good cover corner but he seems to be somewhat of a head case.

I also think Okudah has the talent but now he’s been dinged with a serious injury. I also hate blanket oversimplified arguments, but there is something to be said about playing in Detroit.

It’s still too early to judge…CB is one of the hardest positions in football to transition from college to pros.

Well of course players can turn it around, but there are players in that class that are playing expectionally well. I have a hard time imaging Oakland, Miami and Minnesota not wishing they took one of Diggs, Johnson or Fulton two years from now

I thought Henderson needed alot of technique work, but as far as ability he had the talent to be a good #1 CB. Dont know that he will ever put in the work to get there. Its probably why Jacksonville cut bait while they could get anything for him.

I didnt see Okudah play last year. From what Ive read, he started slow, played better then got hurt. What sucks got him is an achilles is a tough injury for a CB to come back from

Sure, but I think it’s still too early to tell who will have the best careers.

Little bit of a smaller sample size, but Terrell is having an exceptional year. He’s given up less than 50 yards and is around 3 yards / coverage snap. Diggs obviously has elite ball skills and the INTs are great but from a coverage perspective his stats are just ok. He’s given up over 300 yards and almost 8 yards per coverage snap for reference.

Im not saying either is better than the other just sharing perspective.

I see what you are saying, and I agree. My main point isnt who is or will be the best CB in this class. Unless you are focusing on the Diggs comment, which I stand by. What Im saying some of the guys drafted in the 1st have been practicely unplayable, while all three CB's drafted in the 2nd look like potential. My point in all this is that it is shaping up to be a weird class

On a sidenote: Ive seen Twitter threads from Falcons guys saying Terrell is better than Diggs. While I dont agree with them, they make a compelling case

Yea it’s a unique class for sure…

The only concern I had about Diggs coming out was his ability to handle short area quickness and quality route running…I think this is why you see home give us chunk yard plays. I’m hoping he can continue to improve his technique and eyes bc there is zero chance he’s going to be able to sustain all the INTs that are currently making up for the yards he’s giving up.

I love him against big bodies WRs (Evans, Hopkins, etc…) but worry about the quicker and shifter matchup guys.

Joseph is supposed to be an exceptional athlete so hoping he can be that matchup guy…but if not that’s why I’m banging the table to take another CB early next year.

Terrell has been excellent. And Diggs despite the yardage given up has been tremendous. Okudah has dealt with some injuries but I thought he’d be better than what we’ve seen.

We may need one either way. Odds of both Joseph and Wright being starting caliber CB's is probably not great. And Brown and Lewis arent long term options. We need to have 3 solid CB's, so we should probably hedge our bets on the day guys from last year. Wright might just be a #4/ST guy

Johnson was one of the favorites for several posters that draft yr. I was fine with Diggs at 17, thrilled he lasted to our pick in rd 2.

I liked Terrell and Johnson over Diggs. I was wrong but they are still good and it was a joke that fans turned their nose at Terrell at 17 because of one game.

Who I was way off on was Arnette.
