Not too sure about the great offense line comment. We run block with the best of them, but pass blocking is a concern. I guess Troy hasn't seen very many Cowboy games but Dak has had to move around in the pocket a lot on passing plays. Williams and Biadasz are very good run blockers but they get beat way too much on passing plays for me to be confident that Dak won't have to move much on that calf. .
The way I read it, Troy was saying he can get around the scrambling by getting rid of the ball faster. Whether he's as effective or not is another matter.

I’m told around here that stats don’t mean anything. I watch the game so I know Dak has been pressured a lot. Just because Dak hasn’t been sacked that much doesn’t mean he hasn’t been pressured.
He's been pressured, but so has every other QB in the league. I'm sure most QBs would be happy to have the protection our OL gives Dak. That's not to say Dak hasn't done some great scrambling, but usually just to buy more time than you should expect any OL to provide.

Aikman is dead on correct. Every QB needs to move around a little, no pocket is clean the entire game. The Cowboys have done an excellent job of keep a clean pocket and allowing Dak more than enough time for his reads.

Aikman, now the lead analyst at FOX and speaking on KTCK/1310 AM “The Ticket,'' had his own calf injury in 1995. He exited the early-season game at Washington, but played the next week ... and threw for 316 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Packers.
Yep we're good.

No offense, but this is the stuff that bothers me about this site. Do you see the numbers? Dak is sacked , tied for 4th fewest per game in the entire league at 1.5. Please dont tell me its because Dak is so mobile. Against the best D line in football, Dak threw the ball what, 58 times? He was sacked ONCE. So yea, our pass blocking is not OK, it is damn good.

and how many other games do you watch? So you think Dak is o=the only QB that has been pressured? Numbers speak truth. Your subjective mind lies.

I agree. He is pressured and throwing under duress quite often. The fact he hasn't been making poor decisions as a result is a very good sign.

maybe i agree... its only dak that is pressured in the nfl. Most other qbs have lots of time in the pocket.

Remember when we couldn't pressure an one legged Aaron Rodgers in that playoff game. I think our linemen will play better than ever knowing their QB isn't 100%.

A strained muscle can heal in as little as eight days or five weeks. So there's no need to assume the worse until we see Dak in action.

Luckily Minnesota’s defense isn’t that good.
I’m not sure I agree. They aren’t as good as they used to be but they lead the league in sacks with 21. They give up a lot of yards but they are a very aggressive D. So “not that good” doesn’t seem to fit IMO.

He always chimes in when it comes to something he's been involved with. He never chimes in for Dallas when he does any of their games w/Buck. At least Romo is still a homer!
I remember during a game last year, you could tell Aikman was just as frustrated as us fans....he was going on and on about something....saying Jerry needs to do something!! He sounded angry!! You could tell at that point, he was feeling it like we all were!!! So, yeah...he still is rooting for his Cowboys....even though his broadcasts would suggest otherwise. He does a great job of hiding it!!

The best part of this is the team is not as reliant on Prescott's calves as they are Elliott's and Pollard's. Then there's Cooper, Lamb, Schultz and Jarwin calves. Get the rock to the calves downfield.

Dak breaking the pocket was crucial to our win last week.

They had everything covered at times and Dak bought time until guys were wide open.
Dak is really good at passing on the run
When he breaks the pocket something always opens up because someone has to come up to pressure him and many times they leave Schultz
But he’s really grown with his field vision and attacking down field

I guess I’m not overly impressed with them. Sacks only make up one stat. I guess I’d more realistically say they’re an average defense.

I think scheme is helping a lot too.

A lot of this stuff Dallas runs is surprisingly what every 13 year old kid who plays Madden would run.

That play to CeeDee Lamb last week has always been a staple man beater lol.

Heck back in the 90s I figured out that kicking the ball first if I won the coin flip was better than receiving because a score just before half and then getting the ball right back after halftime could create a huge swing.

NFL football has just turned into video game football really.
