No chance they let him walk in that scenario.

Actually, this brings an interesting question........again let say this scenario happens but we can only keep him or DLaw. In other words, one has to go, we can't afford to tag Randy at about $16M AND pay DLaw. So my question to you ........who ya keeping ?????

Better late than never.........."waste of talent” will be on his head stone

29 years old already and has missed 26 games , mostly through stupidity. Took a lot of wasted seasons to finally become an adult that understand rules.

Let’s hope he doesn’t regress because he’s running out of time

That's the spirit

Randy as he is a better rusher and more durable. However, still feel they can keep both for the short-term at least 1-2 seasons

$15M is probably his floor if he continues at this pace coz it'll likely be the 2022 franchise tag range. In other words, it will cost us at least this to keep him off the market.
Just me, but I don't see Stephen offering him a long-term market value deal .....yet. I'm he will tell him to do it one more year, you'll get your deal. Otherwise, we are going to tag you.....

I would ABSOLUTELY tag him....twice if it's still allowed. I simply don't think he's a good long term risk obviously. BUT if he's sign an incentive laden deal that outlines him keeping clean, then maybe that could work. But I doubt his agent would advise him on doing that. Some will say "he owes the Cowboys and the Jones family" but you know how that works. Yeah, I'd tag him. Be interesting to see if Tank can return to form. If not, gotta think about a restructure or cutting him.

I don’t see any logical argument you can make about him being a bad long term risk. Unless you are uninformed about the rule changes regarding weed suspensions

3. I think defensive end Randy Gregory is having an impact in Dallas. His last three games were ca
pped by a powerful performance in Foxboro, in which Mac Jones felt Gregory’s presence all day. His three-game run:

Carolina: 2 sacks, 2 QB hits
N.Y. Giants: No sacks, 6 QB hurries, 3 QB hits
New England: 2 sacks, 2 QB hurries, 1 QB hit, 1 forced fumble

As many times as the Cowboys were criticized for sticking with the troubled Gregory, now that he appears to have his life in order, the combination of Gregory and rookie Micah Parsons on the front seven is gold for the Cowboys’ front. His first big play was a strip-sack of Mac Jones, leading to the Dallas field goal in the second quarter. His second forced a New England punt on the first series of the second half. Both sacks ended Patriots drives.

How exactly was he “troubled”?

I certainly hope you're right .........
I think they can create some space with restructures such as Cooper's deal, but they are going to have to make some tough decisions moving ahead. On defense, outside of DLaw nobody makes significant money at this juncture, at some point that will start to change.
