Biggest takeaway from yesterday's loss

Biggest takeaway from yesterday's loss, wasn't Dak being totally off after missing a few weeks, but rather our run defense. The defense just couldn't stop the run and rarely did the Broncos be forced into obvious passing situations. Sound familiar? That was last year's defense in a put nut shell and we can no longer put all the blame on Jaylon Smith. From top to bottom, even Parsons, they all struggled in this area. Tackling was dreadful. This is the biggest issue they must fix moving forward.
Our O couldn't sustain a drive. Check out TOP. That was by far the biggest factor in the game. The D got gassed from being on the field too much, and they were mediocre to begin w/.

Our run D would've been better if Dak hadn't been so bad.

A young team that ate the cheese. Better to get stomped now and wake up.

Worst offensive performance of the yr by far. Team's aren't going to win when they have 0 points with 5 minutes left in the game.

most of the teams dallas has played , come in with a pass heavy game plan, so dallas just hasnt been tested in that area.
Teams have been too stupid to try a run heavy offense on us. Denver did.

I cant remember the last time cowboys were down 30-0 in the 4th qtr, so they almost set a record, and may have.

i checked and there was 4 min left in game when dallas scored the td to make it 30-7
I bet that is a record or close to one.

Denver ran the ball 38 times ! some of which was late in 4th trying to milk the clock, which they did a good job of.
Dallas ran it 14 lol.

wow found this, how similar !
The Dallas Cowboys came into this afternoon’s game against the Indianapolis Colts as the hottest team in the NFL, winning five games in a row and positioning itself for a playoff berth.

The Colts have been the far more dominant team today, though.

It’s Indianapolis 23, Dallas 0 with about six minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

It’s been a long time since the Cowboys were shut out for an entire NFL game.

ESPN.com had the details:

The Cowboys have been hold scoreless through three quarters for the first time since the season-opening loss to the Carolina Panthers. The last time the Cowboys were shutout in a game was Nov. 16, 2003 when they lost 12-0 at the New England Patriots. Dak Prescott was 10 years old.

So this one was maybe worse in that they had won 6 games in a row and were down 30-0 with 4 mins to play.

The Broncos offense isn't even good. Their fans have been wanting their OC fired but it didn't matter on Sunday, they were doing anything they wanted. The defense will never be good enough to pitch a shutout at home if the Cowboys offense looks lifeless. Capitalizing on momentum at home is important and when the offense gives them nothing, it is draining and the opposing team knows it. Doesn't matter if that was the Broncos or the Lions out there, they would have torched the defense with how the game was going.

Think Dak has more to do with rust then injury. As for the defense, if you struggle against the run, it opens up the passing game as you need to commit more players near the line of scimmage.

Rust? He wasn't rusty against Tampa Bay after missing most of last season. I don't think rust had anything to do with it. That was purely mental and possibly a little ankle soreness.

Imo, run defense is mostly about effort and the effort just wasn’t there.

The tackling was beyond bad too.

Their RBs were breaking tackles on damn near every play cause our D was to busy going for the strip. on one play there was like 3 defenders on their RB and he still broke free. Worst tackling I have seen in a long time

it didn't help that our offense couldn't score a point until the 4 minute mark of the 4th quarter. lmao.

We need to go 4-5 wrs at times and focus on speed and leave the tes on the bench. Imo

I don't think Defenses can cover our best 5 wrs

One takeaway I got from yesterday’s game is we’re starting to see cracks in our run defense. Our DL got manhandled by a makeshift OL and a couple of average running backs. It was reminiscent of the Cleveland game last season.

Wouldn't of mattered as Dak was so off, even when he had time in the pocket.

He couldn't hit the side of a bus on his intermediate to deep throws yesterday. Js. We have a great nucleus for a short quick throw passing game. Every wr on the team has good yacs if they can get the ball. That's a confidence thing. I think it's better than lining these tes up wide. These tes don't have those skillsets imo
