I'm too young to have watched Taylor. Was he also good as an off-the ball LB?

Taylor did not seem quite as quick as Parsons, but he made up for it by being extremely violent off the ball.

Not that Taylor was slow, because he wasn't. He was very fast/quick for his size.

Parsons has that extra gear that is rarely seen in any LB.

Taylor was a fantastic football player and unreal as a pass rusher. Not quite as good as an off ball linebacker, but still very good. Now, would Taylor dominate today like he did back then- probably not. Would Parsons have a chance to be as dominant as Taylor if he played back then- who knows. I'm just glad to be able to watch Parsons play defense each week - IMO more fun to watch than any Cowboy defensive player since the the likes of Randy White, Harvey Martin and Too Tall Jones. No disrespect to Demarcus Ware- terrific pass rusher, just not as much fun to watch.

The thing about LT is that for most of his career linemen were not that much bigger than he was. He went about 245 and a lot of tackles were 255-265 and not as athletic as he. Parsons is about the same size as Taylor but he won't face a tackle under 300 in his career. But these behemoths are generally not nearly as athletic as Parsons.. If he gets them in space it should be a win every time. But elite tackles like Tyron, Sewell, Trent Williams, when healthy, and guys of that ilk are much bigger AND just as athletic .. or at least close enough not to get embarrassed like that.
Sewell does not belong with Tyron or Trent Williams

Micah Parsons may get more sacks than Chase Young did as a rookie. I thought Young's season was highly over-rated. 5 of his 7.5 sacks came against NFC east teams with 2nd or 3rd stringers at LT/RT. This year he only had 1.5 sacks. I feel like he's more of a Clowney than a worrisome challenge like a TJ Watt.

Thats misleading. Not sure of Deions highest, think it was 7 but it's not even comparable. Teams wouldnt even throw those guys way. Maybe 2-4 a game. Diggs still seeing 10+ balls his way.

This. Diggs doesn’t even sniff either of those guys, no shame in being honest. He has taken advantage of some misthrows and being in the right place at the right time.

I’m sure I’ll probably get killed for this but I don’t care. Trevon is a CB who takes advantage of situations and certainly has some of the best ball skills, but comparing him to actual lock down corners is just taking it too far. It should stop.

Deion was in a different stratosphere. And I hate to say it, but there’s no argument whatsoever. It’s not even close.

LT changed the way the game was played on both sides of the ball. I had a VHS tape of his greatest plays, and since he was a Giant, that's saying something!
