Don't forget all of this praise when he wants that huge extension. Laugh now, cry later. Because we all know he's going to want to be the highest paid linebacker in the league. Dak and Zeke contracts soured some fans on Dak and Zeke. So I'm sure some will have problems paying Parsons, even though it's not their money.

I was meh on Parsons. To be honest I was pulling for Slater as our pick came up. I was okay with the pick but was concerned about the "character issues", him not playing last year and not wanting a LBer as our first rounder. Well I was wrong on draft day about all of it and pumped he's here. His play has been phenomenal. His behavior has been above reproach and he's the catalyst of the defensive culture change.
Arguably the best thing to happen to this team in a long time. I'm ecstatic about him. Generational talent.

I was all in for Parsons and still am. Nevertheless, if someone else had got him ahead of us, Slater would've been my next pick. I wish we coulda gotten both.

1. Lawrence
2. Wilson
3. Lance
4. Pitts
5. Chase

Betcha ATL would go Parsons over Pitts at 4.

I'm not so sure about that. They already have one smallish really fast linebacker. I doubt they would have seen the need to get another.

He’s a little smaller and a good bit faster than Ware. He does have a little bit of that Lawrence Taylor attitude, which goes a long way on a defense.

While Ware is high character, he was missing that mad dog demeanor that LT and Parsons has.

Micah is going to be the very foundation of the Dallas defense. He has everything that I want in an impact defender… both physically and mentally.
He’s the same exact size as Lawrence Taylor

I was pounding the table for this kid back in November. People were calling me crazy. Some here still think he wasnt good value. This kid is SPECIAL. Period. I saw it in the cotton bowl and knew we had to have him. Someone here cant remember who compared him to Jaylon Smith pre injury. Parsons is 10 times the player Jaylon wishes he could be. I feel some people fall in love with a player or position and forget talent. Parsons was who this team needed and when. Culture changer.

What a great pick. You build your D around Micah. I did not want another corner drafted in round 1…and this D is getting better.

It’d be nice to get some defensive guys back…especially dlaw.

Great pick. He’s super gifted athletically, and just country strong. What I like though is he very instinctive in some of the things he does on the field. He doesn’t have a lot of experience and he has a lot left to learn… but he’s making great plays already because of his abilities and football mind.

He’s going to be something else once he gets some more experience. He’s already playing like a pro bowler. He’s going to be phenomenal soon.
Your absolutely bang on! BINGO, STUD, FREAK, JACK POT type player that this team needed.

I am really amazed that so many of us.... well, let's be honest... me... were kind of mediocre on the Parsons pick. He fit the category of "solid draft pick" "sensible draft pick" "high floor kind of guy" You know, kind of like... we'll its our duty to fill the LB spot... so let's find a guy.

He was removed from football for one year, which cast his intensity of the game in doubt.
He was a linebacker, which Dallas has a philosophy against picking high or investing much money at the position.

So many things made Parsons seem like a routine pick... other positions of need were unfilled because other teams grabbed the players that had the flash.

And all of that was so wrong... You look at the Falcons game, where he blows up a double team, getting one pancake block on a guard, and nearly sending the other OL guy to the ground, and makes the TFL on the running back.

He uses his 4.3 speed to embarass the right tackle and explode on the quarterback. Ya remember those sports science episodes? I'd bet his mass and velocity combination is near the top... 240 lbs at 4.39 speed? Vicious... lets be honest, there was a bit of luck in drafting Parsons, especially since we traded down to get him. His redraft would be top 5, easy, and some teams might look at him as a #1 overall in a few years.

So glad that he's a Dallas Cowboy.
We basically traded DeVonta Smith for Parsons and Golston…not bad.

I wasn't really high on Parsons being drafted by the Cowboys that high because he took a year off, only played linebacker for two years and in college is was an off the ball linebacker that was more of a rover...Jaylon Smith came to mind but now he reminds me more and more of a Lawrence Taylor type player, a real difference maker and thus far he's proven to be a great pick, can't wait to see what he can develop into in two or three years when he gets a couple of years in the weight room and understands the scheme and reading the offense.

When we traded down, I was OK with Parsons. I really thought we would need Slater more. I was one of those people who bought into the negative media about him. I had convinced myself that he probably didn't love the game. I considered him more of a workout phenom than a football player.

Slater would still have been a great pick. But we needed defense SO badly and Parsons is almost exactly opposite of what I thought he was. He comes across as, not just a team player, but a team builder. And the whole "not sure he loves football" idea, that seems just stupid that I even had that idea. The dude doesn't want to miss a single play. He's been begging for more since preseason.

To be honest, I think that it IS REASONABLE to question a players love of the game when they take off 1 year.

However, we now "know" that Parsons just wanted to drop a bit in the draft, so that he could put that star on his helmet. I can't blame him.

To give some unwanted props:
@AsthmaField was banging the table for Parsons from the very beginning and was giddy when the team selected him and all of his strategies and desires to use #11 have been put to use to his wishes and the fruits are laid bear.

Here's to you and Dan Quinn buddy.

Mucho respecto.
AsthmaField was also going crazy over Aaron Donald during his draft very early on before he started getting the hype and rising on the draft boards. When AsthmaField likes a defensive player in the draft alot, that's good enough for me now. He is pretty good at identifying elite defensive talent. Mad props.

I always thought he was the best defensive player in the draft. When we started winning late in 2020, I thought we had no shot. Now we’re looking back how fortunate we have it. Quinn needed this type of player to change the landscape on defense. He’s still just a rookie. Sky’s the limit

No luck at all, strategy

they knew he would be there at 1o and 12 why not trade down to get what most considered the best defensive player in a top heavy offensive draft and speak for yourself i had him top 3 dead even with the corners it was a coin flip and no consolation prize..he was great 1st round prospect and if anything the luck was having the top corners gone because it turns out corners weren't as an immediate need as once thought, diggs is growing and the others corners are holding their own while KJ and wright learn the systems and the nfl..we then got an extra third and the rest of the draft are doing pretty well..

i was one of the few that was very happy getting Parsons. its like white over Jamar chase part of the draft as parsons and chase were bit forgotten because they opted out..

In college they are great comps, post injury smith thats a different story..JS was great colleges player very much the same, so the comps were valid AS college prospects..
