Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe McGovern is penalized quite often when he plays.

We just hate Williams lol.

With that being said, I’m all for McGovern starting. Williams is gone next season and is often penalized in the most crucial times.

The problem is if you start McGovern you don't have that role he's developed in the offense as the everywhere 6th OL.
There is no guarantee Collins returns to the starting lineup if Tyron returns, he could easily play that McGovern role.

We hate Conner because of penalties. I don’t think McGovern has been called for any?? But may be wrong.

He has been called for penalties, but Williams cannot continue to remain the starter if he cannot curb this area, if it's McGovern or Collins, no matter.

A player on track for 20 odd penalties in a season must be some kind of record…and obviously not a good one.

Fans get on Tank for his pay vs sack ratio, Zeke for his 2020 fumbles, CW for his penalties, Jaylon for his mobility, and LVE for his limitation taking on blocks…..it gets out of hand at times but IMO it’s all born from an element of truth and they aren’t wrong. I think a big part of the piling on happens when the problem isn’t acknowledged and fans feel like they are getting gas lit.

Collins will stay RT. I believe it’s the entire reason they shifted Steele to LT instead of Collins.

Think you're right.........remember MM preaching continuity. This scenario has Tyron's replacement ready when/if he misses any more making only one move rather than two or three.

That’s a good point and things seem to indicate that’s the route they will go. Start and play Smith as long as he’s able and have Steele prepared and ready to go if he’s not.

And keep things as simple as one of the Connors at left guard.

I really hope they don't decide to put steele back to LT and have Collins as depth. Steele has done well. Collins is a better player.
