It is a union job and is called benefits. Some folks have jobs like that. When I work now I demand benefits like that and sick time

When discussing a player and his contribution to a team it is perfectly appropriate to discuss his salary because the salary cap is an element of a franchise's team building strategy.

Because we’re talking about a game check, are we going to make a free agency splash with his game check? Or we resigning Gallup with it?

A game check is not saving a teams cap because they used an excused personal time that’s already written up in a contract.

If the team has excused the absence, why would he not be paid and why would we care?

This has no cap implications even if he wasn't paid for this week.

However, if we are mad at the player(s), we can wish he didn't get paid. Hell, Jaylon Smith might have ended up destitute and homeless.

I think we should include this in our next McCarthy Critique. Clock management and too many excused absences, is Mike McCarthy becoming Camp Cupcake Counselor II?
