I normally wouldn't be thinking so far ahead but when I saw this it made me think how complicated his negotiation might be down the road.

You wonder how the Cowboys will handle this. Will they want to pay him as a LB? Will Micah want DE money? Is there a big difference between the two? You literally have nothing to use as a benchmark as he's a unicorn.

Might seem odd I'm even concerned about this now but reading our obituary over and over again gets old.

I have no doubt it'll get done but it may be the most unique and challenging deal they've ever done with a player.

he is a rookie.....we have him for another 4 years.....lets not worry about that now

I realize that reference confused you and you're not capable of understanding that I wasn't claiming Micah is the same level of player. It was about the creative contract and how that might be involved in Micah's negotiations since he has no real defined position.

I assure you most everyone else got it.
You are sitting here wondering "what type of contract" Parsons will get when there are guys like Von Miller and Micah Parsons that have showed you what type of contract he will potentially sign. Yet, you go on about Taysom Hill. He's going to get paid based on what type of sack producer he is. I can't make that any clearer. Darthseinfield tried to tell you politely but you still think its some damn "conundrum". This is what happens when you stop making posts related to Dak and Wentz I see. I don't like it go back to those posts.

On the 1st year of a 5 year deal and you're worrying about the wrong stuff.

I don't believe Micah's agent will have any interest in some kind of hybrid or creative contract. He and his client will have all the cards when it is time to negotiate. And Jerry/Stephen will bend over because they will have little or no other alternatives.

Parsons next contract is going to be HUGE! He’s going to want to be paid like a DE. Look up with the top edge rusher’s are being paid. The Cowboys are probably already planning ahead to his next deal.

honestly the Jones won’t have a choice because when the time comes. If the cowboys don’t offer Micah top pass rusher money, someone else will.

so If things stay in their current trajectory. Yeah they’re just gonna have to pay him top pass rusher money. Despite what position he is “listed” at on the roster.

It’s really not a problem in my mind. The problem isn’t with paying a top end pass rusher. The problem is finding them. Cowboys are so blessed that the Some of the teams drafting ahead of them were stupid.

Quite a simple contract really, if he keeps playing at this level he will become the highest paid edge rusher when he signs the deal. That's what is agent will expect and that's what he deserves

Assuming he continues to perform on this level, he’s going to get DE money. It’s most likely going to shatter the record for a defensive player at that time.

Keep it simple. Trade Dlaw and give his contract to Parsons. BUt it is an interesting concept. The contract for a hybrid player. It would have to be based on his contribution to the team in general rather than the position he plays?

I’m just thankful the Eagles didn’t draft Parsons with pick 10 when we switched places.

Lawrence will be long gone by the time parsons gets around to an extension. Lawrence has one season left on the cowboys. Unless something dramatically changes and he actually stays healthy and produces.

He’s liable to break a leg by then. We rarely get a star without injury issues at some point.

For the simple minded, sure. It's simple.

Now I'll play Micah's agent.

Why should my client sign this deal as the highest paid pass rusher when he's also a top off ball LB for you? Unless you're giving us a much bigger deal than the current highest paid DE it doesn't seem fair. He's two players in one. You're only offering what the best DE would get.

His declared position will 100% be an issue if Stephen Jones slow plays the extension like he has with others. Stephen will want to use the lower of the two positions for franchise tag and base negotiations off that number.

Von Miller is not a top pass rusher as well as off the ball LB.

What you call worry, I call discussion.
