The thing about Diggs

I saw that live and was livid. You can see him read the play and wait for the blocker to come get him.

I really don't see any other way to look at that play . He's not waiting on a screen. The runner had the ball the whole way and there's no deception here. Did he think Mahomes stll had it? Either way, it looks bad

I don't think he's soft I just think he's making "businesses decisions"...either way I think Brown and Lewis are the opposite in that regard. But you take what you get with Diggs....if you are going to give my unit 8 interceptions then I really don't give a damn what you do honestly.

I must be watching the wrong play..the one posted he has Kelce in man up..he was passed to him form a safty...he has to make sure 87 is not goin out into a route and by that time Kelce turned to block...there was no way he was making that play, now maybe he should've dozed Kelce but I'm betting Kelce has some blocking talent.

Its not uncommon for a TE to block then release especially on a reverse THROW...guys I promise you KC has a throw to Kelce off that play

Thats not how Man works..if you have coverage on that guy you cover him..other have contain they need to do thier job....if they throw that and he bites its a TD and everyone would be screaming about busted coverage.

I agree with you but it does sort of look like he's jogging around. Its not a cause for concern IMO. Like you said he wasn't making the play anyway...that play surely wasn't his fault and it seems to be that's insinuated which is silly.

Not excusing Diggs but I’m questioning this alignment and who is supposed to have containment on that play? You’ve got a D-end, Kearse, and Wilson all the right side of the field and they all get sucked in, there’s literally nobody on the far side of the field. In fact the lead blocker is running in space with no one to block until AB comes from the other side of the field (beating everyone else on the defense) how the hell does this happen?

edit: seems to me Diggs should have been lined up in the flat, I have no idea why he’s sitting so high. Kearse should have lined up on the outside shoulder of the TE.

..looks more like late reaction. By the time he got it, Hill was already crossing North.

Don't like to see that on any play, but how many guys play defense? 11. How many were chasing that play? 4. It is not just Diggs. I have seen this all year from the Cowboys. Too many guys on defense standing around watching others make the plays. Still, the defense did their job and held KC to 19 points at home.

this doesnt have to do with him not being interested

its him taking too long to realise that its a reverse play....or maybe he had backside containment incase it was a fake (maybe who knows)

once he realized it it was too late

I'm more concerned with him giving up big yards. But tackling makes him more of a liability when he's not getting INTs. I also wouldn't be surprised if he gets surpassed as the INT leader real soon.

Things Diggs can improve on, I don't think overall tackling has been bad but like most players you can pick out plays where that player did not do a good job. Myself I look at overall production and overall I think Diggs is a big part of this defense.

I'm okay with it. Diggs is helping to change the culture and reputation on defense with his ballhawking abilities. I'll allow him to be a turnstile in run defense if that's the case!

I posted a few times about this in last week’s game thread. I didn’t like what I saw from Diggs in terms of his effort playing defense outside of coverage.

I can already anticipate the responses “I don’t need my CB tackling….as long as he’s getting turnovers…”

That’s the thing…the turnovers mask his deficiencies. His game against KC was probably one of his most egregious where I saw plainly attaching himself to blockers as the play went by him; this was a favorite technique of Mo Claiborne when he was here. Not every play is a pass play. If you have a defender that doesn’t like the physical aspects of the game it’s like you’re playing defense with 10 guys.

Hopefully it gets corrected because we’ve seen him do better but I know others are starting to notice this about his game.

It was a fake draw and he didn’t know who had the ball. For years we all yelled for a ballhawk and we finally have maybe the best in the league and you guys are complaining about him. Unbelievable.

That's a little strange. Two players have had more than 8 interceptions over the entire last decade. He has a 2-INT lead and the guy behind him hasn't had his bye yet. I'd say it's highly unlikely he doesn't end up with the INT lead.

He appears to be looking away from the play as if he is expecting something else. It's one play and the defense gave up 19 points, and Sturm is gonna single out one play. Gotta love Twitter.

This is brilliant. He's got almost a career worth of ints for most starting CBS but, yeah, you can improve him

There is nothing wrong with wanting a complete player that gives his all every single snap like a certain rookie we can name.

Too bad it doesn't always work that way.

Yeah, that’s not what happened, but thanks for weighing in Ms. Diggs.

I agree with what some others have said. Doesn't look like a business decision just looks like he was slow to react/fooled. Those guys on the other side get paid a lot too and Diggs is still in year 2. Improvements to come to his game for sure he will get smarter and see this coming in the future.

I think he is knicked up and knows that if he gets into a pile that's when bad things can happen to ones legs. Probably a smart move, but it sure doesn't look good on film. Not everyone has the gladiator mind set. That appears to be what we have with Parson's. That lad appears to have zero quit in him.
