Are the Cowboys on a Freefall?

For the season I have us:
Saints -W
Football Team -L
Giants -W
Football Team -W
Cardinals -L
Eagles -L and end 10-7

Eagles
Giants -W
Jets -W
Football Team -W
Giants -W
Football Team -W
Cowboys -W and end 11-6

It would flip everything if we beat the Eagles in Philly but I just don’t think they have it in them to win what’s essentially a playoff game for the win and in.

Wild card could still be possible but I haven’t gotten into the other teams schedules to see where they end up.

So you have us splitting with the WFT yet the Eagles sweeping them? Yeh Ok. LOL.

The Cowboys have lost three of their last four games including 2 at home to 500 teams. Their league leading number one offense has sputtered out and the defense has regressed. They’re in the middle of a collapse. I’m not sure I can recall a Cowboys team that was playing as well as this team was playing a month ago regress this badly. The closest I can think of is the 07 team that started to fade in December. In just a few short weeks the team has become a shell of what it was. With 6 games to play they’ll be lucky to win three more games.

The Cowboys are on a Dakfall. He does this every year when it's his time to step up and be a leader. He doesn't have the instincts to lead when the pressure is on.
Dak is a very good quarterback. He doesn't throw many interceptions- something that has always impressed me. But he doesn't have that instinct to lead the team when they are desperate for leadership. He thinks it's all on Kellen Moore to provide him with a gameplan that simply overpowers opponents and design routes that give him receivers that are 15 yards open.
Until Dak becomes the gunslinger who makes his own rules, he will never be a leader.
I like the guy , but I don't think he's a top tier guy. Some things can't be coached, and Dak doesn't have them naturally.
So , you don’t think he led us from behind yesterday. Or you only give him credit for leadership and high production when the team wins?

After their six game winning streak, they started looking like the "same old Cowboys" again.

When the defense shows up, the offense flops. Offense finally gets something going and the defense gives up chunk plays by the dozen.

It looks all too familiar at the moment.
There really was some similarities during our 6-1 which could be compared to other good starts this era. And why I argued early on to pump the brakes with all of the hype.

I’m not sold this is a collapse. I also thought this team was over hyped at 6-1. Maybe this will ground all of the over the top SB talk and just focus on our battles week to week as a strong playoff contender.

We faced the toughest stretch of our schedule since our opening 2 weeks. And we are suffering through multiple key injuries and other lingering injuries. And a couple teams which were more desperate situations than ours. Last night was a must win if Raiders had intentions of remaining in playoff hunt. Those intangible factors play a role this time of year as we’ve seen other upsets of sorts around the league.

Good news is we have 4 upcoming games with losing record teams with 3 of them against division rivals including 2 with Wash. 11-6 and probably 10-7 is going to easily win our division.

We need to focus on getting everyone healthy for the playoffs. I’d sit Elliott and others as we probably won’t finish above 3rd or 4th seed anyway. If we have all of our Star talent healthy for playoffs we should still be a tough out.

Zeke needs to get benched, but we all know he wont. The OTHER issues will all cure themselves when we get healthy.

Moore does need to realize that Zeke is a liability and start focusing more on the spread offense with Dak and Pollard at RB.

At the very least I’d rest him and start Pollard so Elliott is healthy down the stretch and for the playoffs.

Look............Zeke is either injured or completely done. I would definitely feature Pollard for at least one game. If Zeke isnt injured then we need to find a legitimate 3rd RB. Go trade for Williams over in Detroit or something.

Just my humble opinion, but what top teams in the NFL, with maybe the exception of the Cardinals, hasn’t crapped the bed this season at some point. I went to the Chiefs game and the offense did not look good. Dak has missed some pressure throws he had been making earlier in the year. But that kid, in my opinion, is a competitor. Zeke doesn’t look heathy right now either. They need to get healthy and try to finish strong. They are still in this thing. I am not giving up on them just yet.

Free fall...yes. Don't have them righting the ship until maybe Washington.

He was averaging over 5 yards a carry until his alledged knee injury .

If he’s completely done then our front office and or coaching staff has totally mismanaged him.

If we lose to the Giants, Philly and Washington in some kind of way, then yes the Cowboys are on a freefall. As of now, nothing to really worry about except the fact that we won't ever see a Superbowl with Jerrah running things.

He was averaging 5 ypc until a supposed injury, but more importantly Smith went out. But teams also got smart after the Denver game. They AGAIN realized that all they needed to do was crown the middle of the line and Zeke was neutered. Doesnt have the speed to bounce it outside.

This team needs to get back to its strength and that is a spread formation passing game while mixing in the hurry up. Dak thrives in that offense. The ground game is secondary.

I’m not sure that the powers that be in our organization follow your suggestions. Why do you think that is?

Is it possible that while Dak is more productive in your proposed scheme that it doesn’t always lead to victory as much as when we have success in the running game?

This discussion might actually make a good thread on its own. It’s your idea perhaps you should initiate.

I am only looking at the current state of the Cowboys. Running game isnt working. Not by a long shot. Adjustments need to be made based on injury, effectiveness, ect....ect......

Why bang your head against a with something that isnt working? Just like the beginning of the year. It was Dak and the passing game that made the defenses move back into a cover 2. When they start taking away the passing game, then you run. Not complicated.

I don't see that part. I see the same thing happening every year, with Dak unable to move the team until the opposing team gets a big lead. This isn't new.
