I'm going to post this from Bill Parcells. I think a lot on here respect Parcells. I think if you were to ask Parcells, he'd tell you he'd like Dak as his QB. Why? Because Dak seems to abide by these commandments for the most part. He's the cool hand that steers the ship when things go bad usually. He typically handles the personnel well. He's well aware of the clock. He is the battle tested leader Parcells talked about. He's entertaining and has a good time, but isn't the class clown. He keeps to the team with football matters as far as I can tell. Notice the way he uses his legs and hips to throw, which is a check on that commandment to use his legs to throw. He knows his job. I'd concede he should run more, but Dak knows his job cold as far as I can tell. He's the same person each game. He throws the ball away when needed. By and large, I think Parcells would enjoy coaching Dak if he was still coaching here.



As Parcells would tell you, if your QB usually abides by these commandments, he'll be fine, and I think we're in good hands with Dak for this reason.

Not to take away from Belichick, because I do respect him a lot... but look at Next Gen Stats or one of those more in-depth breakdowns and you'll see his yardage and formations are all aligned to keep it simple and not take risks. Mac Jones could not have started in the same offense Dak was running week 1. They're just now allowing Jones to let loose as he gains their trust. We did the same thing for Dak his first year, Parcells/Payton did same for Quincy. And it's the reason why McVay got rid of Goff, he still had to hold his hand.

He’s certainly not in the league of a Staubach or an Aikman, but guys like that are rare.
In my mind he’s not worth $40 million a year, but then maybe I’m just an old fart who’s not used to today’s salary scale for quarterbacks.
I do appreciate that he’s out there right now without his top two wide receivers and a messed up offensive line. But I expect a quarterback to be able to do more than bounce balls in front of the receivers in overtime with a game on the line.
He is the starting quarterback on my fantasy team so the yards and numbers that he puts up are great for fantasy football. But in real football you have to deliver victories with a game on the line. He often falls short there like he did yesterday.
But I know things could be and have been a lot worse like the clown parade of quarterbacks we had from Aikman to Romo.

So a qualified yes from me.

Jackson and Jones have elite head coaching, which makes a difference. Jones has the best head coach in NFL history on his side. So don't act like they don't have help. The Ravens had the top ten offense in rushing yards as in October. And still managed to win a game without Jackson because of their coaching.

What do any of the other QBs do that sets them apart, meaning when have any of them actually won a game completely by themselves?
