No i just don't believe sports books would put themselves at risk of taking a beating because some hotshot "pro" bettor is taking the other side. I think they cover their backside to protect themselves.

Well you would be shocked to know that very few games generate 50/50 action. You can only do so much , you can’t force people to bet on the other side. The recreational bettors are going to bet the team they want almost regardless of what reasonable number the book posts. Once you start hanging bad numbers to entice even action you will get slammed by pros bc you are positing a bad number. And then you are completely screwed. They can’t do that

All this before they had to turn to Trevor Siemian at quarterback. And I don't know if they'll have Alvin Kamara on Thursday. So once again the Cowboys have a game that they "should" win staring them in the face.

You've obviously never worked in a Sportsbook. The very first thing they tell you on day one is the most important job you have is to keep the lines as close to 50-50 as you can possibly get. Or as the Race and Sports Director told me. "We're after the vig. Period."

They show you how to log into the system and look at the bar graphs under each team of any game. The bar graph was 0 to 100 with a bright red line that was exactly where the 50% mark was. If it was 60-40 on any game, you adjust the line.

That Race and Sports Director was Tike Karavas. He was the most Intelligent person I've ever met. I'm 100% certain that he knew what he was talking about.

For any who wants to know, He travled the world with the Globetrotters as a gaurd for the Generals. He even brought in Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon to introduce me to them because I would always asked him to tell me more of his stories and never ran out. He introduced me to a few famous people and knew hundreds more. For anybody who wants to here some of the stories he used to tell me or are a sports fan in general, I found this interview with him.

-5 is the worst spreadand most teams with -5 or -5.5 end up not covering it and lose the game on a fg.

+5 is my favorite bet and has hit like 90% of the time.

this definitely isn’t how it works. There’s a reason why every Sportsbook has similar lines yet the action on their games are nowhere near identical ..so no

Thank you and hope the same for you. We didn't celebrate till today had family that couldn't be here till this weekend and we had a HS playoff game yesterday so everything got pushed till today. Thursdays loss sucked but yesterdays win(52-0) made up for it a little lol.
