Elliott is a RB that will tap out when he's not at 100%, which is fine, he knows when he's at optimum level.

He does not look like he is at that point in the last couple of games but I do not agree it's about Pollard stealing his thunder, he wants to help his team. When he got crossways with Meyer at OSU, that was not about him but what gave the team the best chance to beat Michigan and Meyer actually agreed with him.

There is a fine line for coaches with players that might not be at 100% and doing what's best for the team and the player.

Elliott is not a player I worry about giving what he's got for the team. But the HC should be the decision maker for what is best for the team when that player might not be at 100%.

McC should know if this team is going to make any noise in the playoffs, they will need a 100% Elliott and he does not look like that now. If he limps into the playoffs, so does the team.
Team docs and trainers should be the decision makers....HC needs to listen to them.

I don't want to call Zeke a liar, but if he injured it against Carolina how did he go for 110 yards against the Giants the very next week? He may be hiding the severity so he doesn't have to sit, but at this point he may be hurting the team.

He claims the knee is getting better and better but he's been averaging fewer and fewer yards per carry every week since the Denver game. He really needs to sit on Thursday, rest and rehab through the ten day break that follows, and then he'll hopefully be refreshed and stronger for the stretch run.

I'm only going to say this about Zeke.. I applaud him for wanting to play and will never bang on a player for wanting to play. It's clear and obvious that he is compromised by that knee and he CAN go out and play but is a shell of himself. So that leaves two choices. Sit him this week and let him heal up or dress him but only use him in spot duty. Part of me like the later option but slamming into 260 pound men on the blitz isn't helping that leg heal. We need him as close to 100% as possible for the stretch run. I think Pollard can handle it for one game. I think the coaches need to bring up a fullback to handle blitz pickup if Pollard throws too many "lookout" blocks for Dak.. But for the long term good of the team Zeke needs a week off.

He’s still getting tds , picking up the blitz better than pollard, and has a lot of good physical runs. He’s not 100% and still effective he’s not as great as when healthy but he’s helping the the team. He was I. Fire before the injury. He’s our best runner and receiving back when healthy. Plus , he had the kids test run of the year:
He was on fire I meant.

You sit Zeke down, bring in a RB and move on,

A healthy Zeke in the playoffs should help things, if he's at all like he was.

He is why ya don't pay any RB big $$$$$$.

Then I guess you shouldn't pay LTs big $$$$$ either because ours has missed about 20 times as many games as Zeke has.. And maybe WRs either because he has also missed more games than Zeke.. hell even the QB has missed more games than Zeke.. And how about the all pro RG.. Yep.. has missed more games than Zeke.. Point being.. if getting hurt is your reason for not paying guys, then you're not paying anybody.. and you're also not fielding much of a team.

He thought he made a good point here.

Obviously the wear and tear on RBs is much different than any other position. They have the shortest life span in the NFL. Even great backs don't figure to be great for long. Whereas LTs, OGs and QBs will.

If they insist on playing him then very few carries. Put him on to block for Dak. He is good at picking up the blitz..

He doesn't do crap anyway. Sir em

He blocks and can gain a foot if need be lol.

Just play Pollard and get Zeke looking like he looked in week 2.

He needs the rest clearly. Get him off his feet for a game or 2. We are fine without him.

Why? If he can go, GO....they all play with pain.

Playing with pain and being effective is a GO. Playing with pain and being ineffective hurts the team. He needs to worry less about being seen as a warrior and more about what’s best for the team - and getting himself healthy enough to be effective.
