Playing with pain and being effective is a GO. Playing with pain and being ineffective hurts the team. He needs to worry less about being seen as a warrior and more about what’s best for the team - and getting himself healthy enough to be effective.

It's never up to the player whether he plays or not. It's up to the coaches and the trainers. If the coaches feel like he's hurting the team then they need to sit him. If the trainers think he's hurting himself THEY need to step in. Zeke doesn't care about "being seen as a warrior." Zeke IS a warrior.. That much is clear.

Look at his yards/game the last 5 games. He stinks. He is nearing Jaylon ‘Swipe’ stink level. Elliott knows it. The team knows it. Just a matter of time before most of the fans realize it.

Don't underestimate the Binky Factor.

Dak might feel better having Zeke back there with him, especially for his blocking.

i do believe if he does play flip the starting duty's to pollard and use zeke sparingly. Then 10 days off should help a lot..if pollard and others can get thungs going and get nice lead dont use zeke at all..we need him for stretch run..

The problem right now with fans is they are willing to give up explosive plays for blocking and 3rd and a foot conversions.

Zeke looked good early in the season. Really good. He just needs to sit and heal that knee.

Dallas needs to quit worrying about who they paid and give the better runner the ball more and that is Tony Pollard.

Listening to the halftime show with Esiason they were all in agreement that Pollard is just a better RB than Zeke. Hopefully the Cowboys see what I saw before the season soon.

I agree 100%. He looked great at the start and is now banged up and not moving near as quick as earlier.
Sit Zeke and get him healthy.
Ride Pollard for a couple games and then bring back Zeke and rotate to get Pollard some rest before the playoffs start.

Many players do better when they are in pain....they focus more....big difference between pain and injury.
I think more players get more injured playing injured they favor it rather than use natural instincts. Romo was a good example. He never fully healed before coming back. Until the last series of his career and that was very impressive!

I really think part of the reason Zeke has gotten badly banged up the last two seasons has been crappy line play. He's having to take on far too many linemen and linebackers both with and without the ball .. It has clearly taken a toll on him and he's not nearly himself right now. I agree that Pollard can handle the load for a game or two but frankly if the line doesn't block better he's going to end up beat to hell too. But Zeke's health has reached a crisis level at this point.. and continuing to ram him into the teeth of the defense with little or no blocking is doing nobody any favors.

Then I guess you shouldn't pay LTs big $$$$$ either because ours has missed about 20 times as many games as Zeke has.. And maybe WRs either because he has also missed more games than Zeke.. hell even the QB has missed more games than Zeke.. And how about the all pro RG.. Yep.. has missed more games than Zeke.. Point being.. if getting hurt is your reason for not paying guys, then you're not paying anybody.. and you're also not fielding much of a team.

There are TONS of guys who can run a football, they are all over the place.

"Jaquar" Joh Arnett
Frank Gifford
Mike Garrett
O.J Simpson
Charles White
Marcus Allen
Clarence Davis
Lynn Cain
Anthony Davis
Sam Cunningham
Ricky Bell
Reggie Bush
Lendale White
Ronald Jones

That is just USC and took a few seconds,,,

Mel Farr
Kenny Washington
James McAlister
Theotis Brown
Wendell Tyler
Gaston Green
Desuen Foster
Maurice Jones Drew
Freeman McNeil

That is UCLA, took seconds, there are what 23 RB;s out of the same city?

You pay a RB one contract when that rookie deal is up ya move on. Your $$$$$ goes to QB/O line/edge rushers.

I know ya like Zeke so do I but he's not who he once was we all see it, last thing we need now is he gets really hurt, cat needs a break.

By the way, Reggie Bush, Ricky Williams, Terrell Davis, Rashad Salaam, Arian Foster, Marcus Allen all out of San Diego high schools. Running backs a dime a dozen,

Why not give him 17 days off to heal up..he isnt doing anything on the field ...get him ready for the final stretch. Pollard is ready to carry the load against the Saints.
How many blitz pick-ups has he had? You will miss that trust me.

If they do sit Zeke it will be imperative that they find a fullback or at least a running back who can and will sacrifice his body to block they way Zeke has. If they don't then Dak will be carried out on a stretcher and our season will be carried out with him.

It's a valid point..but the flip side to that is..everyone knows he's ailing..and not the threat he was..Pollard is an added weapon that defenses have to account for..If we know Zeke is banged up and not a threat..what do you think defenses think..use Pollard to keep them honest and have to defend...with Zeke on the field ,its one less threat they have to defend..Pollard running and receiving are legit threats to a defense..don you think the Raiders were worried about Zeke ? ,especially in OT..Now put Polard in during OT..do you think they would have to account for him more than Zeke...let Zeke heal and get ready for the playoff push..Healthy Zeke and Polard..now defense really have to play honest...if Zeke continues to play on a banged up knee..does he get stronger ??? No ..he continues to decline..come playoffs , he's got nothing...Pollard can handle the duties against the Saints..that would be almost 3 weeks of rest for Zeke..its no slight on Zeke..its managing your players and getting ready for the final stretch...

There are other ways to protect Dak.

People over leverage the Zeke’s pass protection prowess because they know it actually outshines his general running ability.

I’m sure Coach Jerry has made it clear to play Zeke since he’s paying him all that money. I think the same thing happened with Jaylon Smith.
