The poor OL play has given Dak the yips.
The offensive line can’t create holes to barge through. A team where the combo of Elliott & Pollard was expected to make a huge difference isn’t showing it. Somethings very wrong with this entire squad. They haven't played as they did in the first 7 games.

It's just a way to compare movements and such. Why you get so offended about it is telling.

It's telling alright, you chimed in. Romo is gone, Dak is here, this thread is about Dak...learn to read.

Romo had Fredericks at center….
It hasn’t been that bad. Is he Frederick no but he’s a top half of the league center if he wasn’t they woulda been prepping McGovern for the position. Also don’t forget the years romo had costa at center.

i thought so too, but y’day on the 3rd down, the pass to CeeDee was quick and on the money, Also the throw to Amari over middle in the first TD possession was good. if he can do that consistently then even with OL yips we can move ball easily. The passing can open up running.
Yep if the 1st read is open Dak can set his feet and drill it, much better than he used to be at that.

It seems like now one of his issues is that moving off the 1st read and progressing down the route tree has become more difficult for him? It seems like he used to be better at it? What happened?

Dak looks like he's got 20 lb ankle weights on when he moves.

It seems he is still feeling the effects of the "calf strain".

Honestly, I don't care that he's not running. But his footwork and movement in the pocket seems compromised and that sucks.

If it's something that can heal over the season, then we'll probably be alright. But if not, we don't have a legit shot of a deep post season run.
I know, right?
I always thought he was a better scrambler/runner than what he's shown the last 6 games.

The issue isn’t Tyler individually….as a unit they are not living up to their potential.

Well...I'm not the one bent out shape about it. Calling you out makes you even MORE mad.

Players don't live in a vacuum. You need predecessors to form comparisons and examples. Okay....you hate using Romo style and execution as comparisons. Maybe Aikman or Staubach would do?

True but ya still gotta make plays and make throws. Nobody goes untouched all season especially in the playoffs.

I'm telling you guys something is up with him. His footwork and mechanics look terrible.

This is exactly what happened to him halfway through 2019. He started out great, was in the NVP talk and then suddenly he lost it. He started throwing off his back foot, jump up in the air to make throws and he lost his accuracy. He does not look as bad now but it seems like he is not seeing the field. Last night there was shot from behind Dak where he started to run to his left from the pocket and he almost threw and INT to a covered receiver. But he camera caught a wide open receiver to his right for an easy 10 yards. Dak never saw him or even looked over there. I know it is only 1 play but it is not one play. I have seen this a few other times the last few weeks. Lat week he did the same thing with Dalton Schultz wide open in the middle of the field for about 10 yards. Early in the season Dak was seeing these plays. He was standing in the pocket with confidence and making all the clutch throws. Since he was injured, I haven't seen that Dak on the field.

Agreed. Dak getting sacked is one thing. My issue is his accuracy is off, his pockets are rarely clean, run game is sucking….I think it stems from the offensive line. Our offensive line was important in 2014 and 2016 because they kept our quarterbacks clean, run game was on point and defense stayed off the field.

Well whatever. Dak’s OL is one of the best OLs in football.

Most teams are closer to the product the Saints trotted out there. Terrible.

Look, I’m not making excuses for Dak, as he is not playing very well right now, but there is NO WAY this OL is anywhere near the best OL in football. It probably isn’t even in the top half anymore as a whole. At least it is currently playing at that level.

Romo was always good.

Problem is he was asked to be a 1 man army for too long and Dallas screwed up by paying him too much and of course Garrett.

The difference between Romo and Dak contracts is that Romo could have gotten as much or more on the open market. Dak not so much, hence we overpaid.
