Good All-22 from VL on the defense against Saints. Really spells out what a lot of us were saying to the Lawrence bashers, and the exciting potential for this defense as everyone returns. This has to be the best defense since the Parcells into Wade years. Offense may have started the year, but defense is going to finish it.

DLaw inside is not specific to having Parsons.

They often played Gregory inside when Parsons was not pass rushing.

It is just part of Quinn's quest to mix things up and give the offense different looks.

??? Talking about the lethalness of our "endgame" formation as VL calls it. The Cowboys version of the NYG Nascar package. D-Law, Gregory, Parsons, Golston, Basham, etc... that's a lot of lethal pass rushers at once. And as VL shows in the film, Parsons is just spying the QB, and that won't be needed for everyone.

Defense wins championships........

Never though I'd see a day of being more excited to my defense rather than offense........
Yep, the number 1 defense in ncaa, GA, allowing only 6 points per game win the title against Alabama tonight........oops, wait, they got lit up, didn't they?

Love your post's Vaquero but we gotta call it fair when the Saints were missing both Armstead and Ramcyzck.

Like I said I'm not totally trying to throw shade here but I've seen Tank neutralized by starting tackles too many times to crown his performance just yet.

I hope that collectively, his presence along with Gregory's and Gallimore's return up front will be as impactful as so many are believing.

What a drastic change if they all ball out as is being predicted.

Fingers crossed.

What will win a championship is getting both these units to perform simultaneously. Sounds stupid and obvious, but I believe this defense is going to be enough if we can just get the offense to somewhat return to form.

And they had a JV Kordell Stewart with a broken finger. :muttley:

Hey man, a win is a win. Besides, they're missing OTs, we're missing our best Edge and DT.

Easy opponent, but I think we will see some good things from this D if everyone remains healthy and the guys coming back get more reps.

I think Wilson is our 2nd best safety, we get Hill.... just need someone to figure out how to bring back rookie LVE and we're set.

what did the analytics say about GA's chance to win before the game?

every year, there is at least one game in the playoffs where a teams season statistics get obliterated.

they got lit up because they couldn't get to the qb.

Saints were missing two main OL. Their best playmaker in Kamara. And Taysom Hill is a gimmick and add a fracture in his finger, and you get the performance we saw.

To be fair, Georgia is absolutely terrible in big games and Bama/Saban own them. Georgia constantly plays a crap schedule, beats up on the weak SEC East and then gets falters when they actually play someone real.

Bama owns a lot of teams. I know what Reid is saying, any given Sunday, but Georgia wouldn't be the first to go home crying.
