Didn't Danny Dimes play at Duke?

Duke Athletic Director: "So how was he as your OC Danny?"
Danny Dimes: "Uhh. Uhh. He's really good at clapping."

LOL.

Nick Saban certainly doesnt believe that. I get the hatred for him, I really do, but lets not let that blind us into thinking he doesnt belong in the sport.

I don't. At least not anymore. I mean ***? He made it to the NFL and found an owner who hired him and believed in him. He believed in himself and did the best he can. Now as history showed it was nowhere near enough for making the Cowboys successful, but what did you guys expect? Him going to Jerry say "sorry Boss, I'm crap at what I do, don't want you to waste anymore money, here's my resignation"? Who on earth would do that? Especially when you're above average (.500).

Sorry but even though it was horrible to stand by and watch all those wasted years pass, it's ridiculous to still hate the guy for that. As long as he stays away from a job at the Cowboys I wish him all the best and that he finds the right spot for him. Somehow he always looked like that spittball magnet kid in school. Other than that he seemed okay. Let it go.

/end rant, lol. :D

Garrett imo would make an awesome college coach.....

I'm not sure how mommas will take it when he's recruiting their sons and slaps them on the butt or shoves them or slaps their head like he's trying to kill them, and then claps about it.

You thought this would go any other way? Lol highly sought after good coach indeed.

Check what I’ve actually said in the topic. Let me know what you disagree with.

You won’t, though. And we both know why.

You honestly deep down truly...truly believe that? Be honest answer honestly.

I mean he is another human living on the same planet as you that had the skill to make it to the elite of the elite at his craft, and we as people are so evil towards each other we can go on a message board and act like he shouldn't ever coach ever again. Why.... because he couldn't do what 99.99999 % of the human population can't do and win a SB in the NFL? I mean...seriously?

I'm not a big Garrett fan but I sincerely hope he succeeds in whatever it is he decides to do. He never ruined my life enough to think otherwise. Seems like a good guy that players respect.

He's not wishing failure on the guy, he's just voicing his opinion that Garrett's talents would be better used doing something other than coaching. That's not an evil intention. Geez, most people would be better at something other than coaching an NFL team. Garrett just seems to be one of those.

I think he has no business coaching anything.
Completely agree.

Although if there is a College Football Program that could come out even with Garrett as a Coach, Duke would be one of them. Not exactly a powerhouse football program there.

But I sure would hate to see his brand of suckiness to somehow leak over to the Duke Basketball Program since JG and Coach K seem to be at least semi-close.

Abso-freaking-lutely.

JG is the type of guy I would hire to run a non-sports business. Very even keel, can deliver a message eloquently, and has the presence of a confident individual.

But I think he's ability to coach in football is extremely sub-par, even at the H.S. Level. He shows virtually no imagination and is unable to find a way to win unless everything is going perfectly. Even then, he finds a way to screw up, like freezing his OWN kicker, more times than not.

He should have never been promoted through the coaching ranks so fast, and if anyone would ever ask me for a definition of nepotism, I would point them directly at Jason Garrett.

But of course, JMHO.

College football is about 90% recruiting. Used to be 'recruiting' meant paying under the table, women, drugs, and alcohol. Times are changing though. College players getting paid now/soon. Garrett is not the type to engage in unsavory behavior to land a recuit in my opinion. He would fail at the college level unless it was the Ivy League.

JG has a well payed agent who’s job is to find this sort of stuff and drum up interest. He’s gonna get mentioned a lot because of that.

He’s a total fraud of a football coach however so we’ll see if some dumb AD wants to wreck his own career. Coaching the Cowboys will appeal to the dumb 3 tier boosters however.

I think the guy should be investing his 50m he stole from Jerry and be happy.
