When you think of the WFT, what makes you concerned?

We are likely very one-dimensional on offense, our o-line is struggling in pass protection (and in general), Dak has developed happy feet in the pocket yet refuses to scramble, and our coach is inferior to theirs. And it appears they're hitting their stride while we have hit the wall. Oh yeah, and Jerry's Cowboys culture.

I hope like hell I'm wrong, but I don't think today goes well. This is setting up to be a Dec 26 showdown for the division.

Agree on all of it other than the coaching part. But..........our defense is starting to steamroll.

What concerns me the most is the fact that Ron Rivera looks just like the old Commander/Indian chief logo that was on the helmet. That has to scare the BeJesus out of anyone!

Only history of this rivalry as well as the other East rivals, I do not think there is another like it. I used to think the NFC North was the one but the East is the hardest to figure when they play each other.

The stats are from the entire season so far so that doesn't play into it for me. Those stats include when the Dallas offense was cranking it out and the WFT defense was the worst in the NFL. That is no longer the case.

Their running back the last 2 times has gashed us pretty good the defense needs to stop the run

heinecke is rendered pretty useless if you can stop the run . LVE in coverage is concerning as well

Boy's OL sucks and the Zebras will be letting the yellow flags fly for holding. Hard to make 20 yards for a 1st down on every drive.

I’m looking at some stats and here’s what stood out to me…

Points for:
Dallas - 353
WFT- 246

Points Against:
Dallas - 267
WFT - 297

We out score this team by 8+ points per game and we’ve played virtually the same opponents, we also have given up 2.5 points per game less than that ‘vaunted’ WFT defense that was supposedly a top 5 defense coming into this season. Oh and by the way they lost their best player (Chase Young) for the season.

Give them the +3 points for home field advantage. Give them the guaranteed Greg Zuerlin missed FG that will cost us 3 points, and give them the ‘nfl refs hate the cowboys’ 3 points advantage.

That’s 9 points. We average +10.5 points per game more than the WFT, so subtract 9 from 10.5 and we should win this game by 1 point (1.5 if you want to be technical). I have the Cowboys at -1.5 favorites, and ‘Vegas’ has the Cowboys as -4.5 favorites but they either didn’t factor in the missed Zuerlin FG (or 3 extra points), or the typical referee bull crap.

Cowboys 21
WFT 20

If we win we’ll have a 3.5 game division lead with 4 games to go, and that guarantees us at least a home playoff game in the 1st round. HOWEVER, if we lose - we only have a 1 game division lead (because we lose the tie breaker over Washington if they beat us twice and we end up with the same record + our record will be 8-5 and the WFT will be 7-6). They would control their own destiny.

In other words, this is a HUGE freakin game.

Great post You hit some good points I had to laugh especially the kicker . Will he miss an extra point also. Any way not so concerned about what the Skins will do but what we wont do . Are we prepared ? Will our coach manage the clock properly . Will we play with a sense of urgency from the begining or start slow and wait till we are down to take things seriously .

We need to jump on these guys fast ,make it important early so the refs cant impact the game . Slow starts and 3 and outs are what gets us on a bad roll then everyone is trying to make up for it and get that little edge. This leads to flags and heroics being necessary late in games .
What concerns me is we will be out coached that is the only way we lose this game . But its a very real possibility.

Our offensive funk. And modify the stats for recency, say 5 weeks, and they are the superior team.

The return of our players could be the deciding factor. If they all play as they are capable of playing, we win easily. But this team has a history of underperforming when they need to turn it up. Let's see if this team turns the tide

Nothing about that team concerns me. They are about to get a beat down in their home stadium and then we are going to finish them off in two weeks.

It absolutely has a massive difference.

We return Gregory and Gallimore and finally have 21 of 22 starters back. They are missing quite a few todays.

It’s a rivalry game and in no way shape or form would I be shocked if we lose.

# 24 out of Memphis , former Pollard teammate. I’m not sure about cutting big man Hamilton against a team that likes pounding the ball and replace him with Darian Thompson . Unless Kazee and Hooker are banged up. Kearse has to have a big game near the line of scrimmage be a factor.

Another Cowboys fan with a blind spot for defense.

Just need to outscore the opponent, no matter what! That doesn't work in the NFL.

He’s right.

It’s an offensive league. If our offense sucks most of the game and thinks they can just wake up in the 4th quarter and then pad stats and blame the defense then we won’t win many games doing that.

Our defense is fine. It’s a dang good modern day NFL defense.

It’s an offensive league and even really good defenses will get torched from time to time.

The Patriots have a incredible defense and look what we did to them.

Some of you just need to come to grips with the reality of what this league is and stop blaming defense.

Nearly all of Dallas’s resources are on the offensive side of the ball. That’s where the money is spent.

The Cowboys can not afford to have a inept offense. They paid premium for premium.

It’s can’t be a 3 & out / bad on 3rd down / lack of scoring for 3 1/2 quarters and expect our defense to carry us.

Watch out for the refs early and often. The NFL doesn’t want Dallas ending this division with a month to go.

I believe they will be our biggest obstacle today.

Let the D line do the pass-rushing. Parsons needs to be given one assignment...contain Antonio Gibson. Spy on him and don't let him get out of control. Gibson is the type of RB that can take over a game and he is now healthy.
