When Mike made the guarantee last week, I was nervous because I don't think I've seen us back up a guarantee like what Mike did. I remember in 2011 where Rob Ryan trash talked the Eagles in the off-season, and we proceeded to get pasted badly the first game we played. The fact that Mike made the guarantee AND the team backed it up is incredible to me. I know it seems minor, but it's significant to me because it shows that this team is talented enough to back up trash talk.

Don't be nervous re trash talk.

This team can back up its swagger, usually.

The killer in all of this is that we finally get a freaking defense that can actually win games and now we have an offense that is regularly c rapping the bed. Daks first year was better than he has been playing these last 5 games. This offense better find itself really quick otherwise it may be one and done.

I agree. We need Dak to get back to what he was doing prior to his leg injury. They do that, and the Cowboys can win the SB. What we do well is portable. The O needs to get it together though. That's what'll change be the difference between us going 1 and done and winning the Lombardi.

There was no guarantee. It’s a made up thing by the media. He said they will win the game he is confident in that. If he said I am confident we will play well and win, is that a guarantee? That’s what he said. It wasn’t nothing like. We will win and put that in 3 inch letters !! Not even close.

Oh, it sounded like it was. Either way, I'm happy with this win. Regardless, they had more o a target against them than usual despite the opponent and being on the road, and they won. They probably don't win a game like this under Garrett imo.

make that guarantee against the Cardinals and “back it up” then get back to me

making it against the little sisters of the poor is meaningless

well that’s foolish. guarantees are for games you’re sure you’ll win. skins were looking fairly formidable and we’d been tail sliding. you have to be calculated, and it’s always best in division.

one things for sure though, he seems to know how to push the teams buttons. for all the talk about how players really liked garrett in the locker room, they seem to respect Mccarthy

Exactly, and I think they like McCarthy too. I think they respond well to him. I think, unlike Garrett, he knows how to earn the respect o the players as well as being liked by the players. That's why I think they play so hard for him. Additionally, making a guarantee against a team you're not so sure about is a good way to lose a locker room. Guaranteeing or making it clear you know the team is going to win prior to the game better be backed up, so doing it with a team has to be spot on, and it was.

That is new though with this team. Do you think Garrett could ever guarantee a win and have the team back it up? I don't.

I don't know ... well, I don't see Jason acting the buffoon and guaranteeing a win. Fat Mac came 1 TD close to being renamed Guaranteed Mike.

I'll counter saying that Mike doing it was a way to show his team his confidence in him. I think it was a good sign to see the team respond the way they did and show their class.

No, the porcine Mac was acting a fool. Act like you've been there before. Because you have, you mountainous mound.

Tell that to Tom Landry. I saw a YouTube show where, I think it was 1976, the Cowboys were really cocky going into a game against the Giants, and the team was completely at lax (The channel I was watching was JaguarGator9 I think) where they apparently were so cocky they didn't practice much just expecting to show up and win...and they did win.

Located it! It was 1977:

On a day someone at CZ compared Dak to Rogers, now we get a Fat Mac/Tom Landry. LOL
