So we're definitely cutting him in the offseason right?

And for 30 months Zeke hasn't been special. In fact he hasn't even been our best RB. In any case no matter your feelings he certainly has not been what we paid him.

Look...I always knew i'd be right. That was obvious. But we have a chance this year to go deep in the playoffs. We can't keep giving zeke all these touches if we want to get where we need to be.

We have to scale back his touches. He's worse than a JAG because he's taking opportunities from better players. Sucks man.

On the bright side...very happy the Giants drafted Barkley. LOL

He is not Adrian Peterson, this is the lifecycle of most RBs, not sure why we thought he was any different. Maybe his lifestyle away from football gave us hope of a longer career. Sadly we have two more seasons before it makes sense to cut him because of cap exposure.

We aren’t cutting him after the season

Not really, he's only 26 and he lost his burst a good two seasons ago. All RBs don't start their decline at age 23-24. That's what I find odd.

We can all see Zeke isn’t a 100% but what would his absence do to further damage Dak’s confidence? They said yesterday during the broadcast the doctor said the knee couldn’t be further damaged by playing so why rest him before we’ve clinched anything or when we’re still playing for playoff positioning as well as trying to gain back continuity on offense? Perhaps the last game if there’s nothing left to gain you sit him but that’s it.

Dallas is absolutely not cutting him in the off season. It doesn't matter how well he plays or doesn't play. You don't cut a RB with a 30 million dollar dead cap. Jerry would have to be taken for a psyche evaluation if he did that.

I think everyone knew back in 2019, including Zeke, that he'd never see that 2023 salary. But he's already been paid for 2022.

2016 Zeke is a thing of the past. That guy was a finely tuned machine. A total meta human. What we have now is a blob. I would pay good money to see him try to put on the belly tux from his draft night.

I beg to differ, about four years is the norm for a road grader basher like Zeke, he is still a poster child for how a RB should block, his running skills were diminishing when he signed the big contract. I have no problem with him getting the contract he earned it. my two cents

Youth should still play a role. It's usually around 4 years because most players come in at 22, so at 26 they start to degrade, sometimes. You should still be good to go at 23. That's still super young.

I do have a problem with his contract. This isn't baseball, they don't pay players respect money in the NFL. You're paid for what they believe you can do in the future, based on your past. Not because he earned it. Flash back to the 2018 off season right now with what we know today. Zeke doesn't see another snap for the Cowboys.

I don’t think the cowboys are going to cut him this off-season due to the cap implications.

I do think they will after next season.

I have been converted to the “don’t pay RB’s” mindset. It’s just too risky. I thought Zeke would be one of the few who can maintain production until 28,29 years old. But he isn’t.

Yes the cap hit is just entirely too much at $30m. He looked good at the start of this season, pedestrian after his injury but yesterday showed he's on the upswing and should get more healed up these last few weeks. I think him and Pollard will get rested some and hopefully they get an RB3 involved.

Unless a player is actively hurting the team you can't eat a cap hit that large, and he is still an important cog in this offense.

I tend to agree. But I am not totally in the don't pay a RB. Just don't pay them ridiculous money. I realize Henry got injured. But up until that point he is worth every penny.
