That's my boy. Would be great if he could get a few game reps this season so the year isn't a complete waste. Think he might be talented enough to be a long term LT.

I still suspect they likely held him out so long because he needs time in the weight room.

There is no chance he plays before the Cowboys clinch the division. More likely they put Tyron on IR for 3 games and Ball is another backup tackle in case of an injury.
I wouldn’t mind seeing him getting a few snaps against the Eagles if Green Bay beats Cleveland and Minnesota.

Josh Ball is extremely talented. If not for his off field stuff he would have been a 3rd round maybe even late second round pick.
He was better in 2017 as a redshirt freshman at LT for Florida State than Steele was at RT in 2020 for Texas Tech.

If Josh Ball had stayed at Florida State, he likely would have been a 2nd or 1st round pick.

His body type reminds me of Joe Thomas.
- Thick lower body for a guy that is 6-7-1/2".
- Plays with good knee bend to maintain leverage.

Obviously Ball doesn't have Tyron type physical ability, but nobody else does either.

It's all about the mental side for Josh Ball.
- He's a mean SOB.
- He was ejected from the Conference USA Championship Game after his 2nd personal foul penalty.
- Unfortunately Erik Williams probably couldn't play in the Goodell era. He would be ejected from every game or suspended.

I never heard that it was announced Tyron being on a 3 game IR.

Ball is so bereft and lacking of game experience, (never even played in preseason -very limited training camp) ..so i don't see how he helps us this year.
maybe it's a matter of getting him practice time during reg. season. Maybe club thinks so highly of him.

Would they dare throw him in the fire very late in games, if we somehow have big blowout wins these late few reg games ?
i still would not think so - but if the Tyron ankle spurs injury is that concerning that they'd want a spare body on hand on the depth chart.

This may be Dallas just wanting to see him practice so they have a clue as to what they drafted when they go into FA & the draft.

Youth on the Oline needs to be the top priority.
Bingo. I’d be shocked if ball got playing time or even made the active roster. This is a chance for them to see how he looks in practice so the coaching staff has some sort of idea of what they have in the player at a position of need prior to entering the offseason.

- i don't see what we would gain by bringing Vasher off IR.
Why not just permanent IR him and re-start him again in the offseason/next camp ?

- Especially given the WR jam we currently have and Vasher has virtually zero NFL game experience and missed virtually all of the summer with an injury.
and he's not a proven special teamer like Malik Turner.

- And project Simi Fehoko is already occupying a 53 roster spot as the 6th WR.

And who are we gonna cut in favor of bringing both Ball and Vasher off IR ?

Let's hope both Josh Ball and Vasher get some good work to get back into condition and recover their skills. I think it's doubtful Ball will see any live action anytime soon. I imagine next year would be the time for that. Good to know both of them have finally healed, though. Here's hoping we'll see more about them pretty shortly.

Ball needed to get stronger to play in the NFL. Hopefully he took the time to really work on his body and get stronger.

He has the physical tools but does he have it between the ears? Self control for one; a guy getting PFs all the time and suspended is worthless.
