Our free agent class next year is no joke. We have a number of contributors that are up for renewal and we all know that we can't pay and retain everyone.

Here's the full list of FA's - the real question is, who do you retain vs. let go?

Offense:

Connor Williams
Michael Gallup
Dalton Schultz
Cedrick Wilson
Ty Nsekhe
Malik Turner
Noah Brown
Mitch Hyatt
Corey Clement

Defense:

Leighton Vander Esch
Keanu Neal
Dorance Armstrong
Luke Gifford
Brent Urban
Carlos Watkins
Deante Burton
Francis Bernard
Maurice Canady
Jayron Kearse
Damontae Kazee
Randy Gregory
Malik Hooker

ST:

Bryan Anger
Jake McQuaide
Bring back Gregory and Anger

The Cowboys should write up a contract for each player based on their expected contribution over the next 2-5 seasons.

There should be no sentimentality, no feelings of "owing" a player due to previous results, no loyalty, just a hard, cold analysis of their value.

At the same time, there should be no low balling, no posturing, no negotiation through the media, and no counter offers.

The ones that take the contract stays, the rest can go.

Every time team management succumbs to negotiations they have less opportunity to sign incremental upgrades at other positions. This is a team sport and teh salary cap is a pie in which players should have a slice equal to their present abilities.

Besides, if the Cowboys win a playoff game then other free agents are going to see the potential of a Super Bowl ring and act accordingly. Better teams get better talent at a discount..

I'd like to bring Kearse and Hooker back as well as the special teamers.

Unless Gregory agrees to a very team friendly deal I'm not interested.

We have to be extremely selective on who we sign after wasting so much cap on the QB.
Thought we had Hooker through 2022. But yes, Kearse and Hooker would be nice to keep. Kearse has probably played his way to a pretty nice deal next year and a strong finish from Hooker will likely put him in the same boat. What are the chances that Gregory repays the organization for their patience with him? Slim to none is my guess.

Start with Gregory and Kearse. I've flipped on this one, but I'd see if we can also get Connor Williams re-signed. After that, it's about who's willing to accept Stephen's "honest offer".

Agree with this but I'd also make Hooker a priority for the right price. He stayed healthy and it appears he's hitting his stride last season. Let's face it, as much as fans don't wanna here it, Stephen and Jerry are NOT drafting a safety with a high pick.

For me .....
Connor Williams
C Wilson
Kearse
Gregory
Hooker
Anger

the rest are the normal 15-20% attrition losses Jerry talks about every year

We are $20 million over the cap. The 43 players with contracts are $12 million over, and the next 10 will cost an estimate of $8 million.

How much can the team push to the future?
