This is hardly some brand new method of playing defense against an explosive offense.. It has been around forever.. So I had to take a step back and try to understand why it has been so effective against the Cowboys.. No matter how many times I looked I kept coming back to the same thing.. Patience.. Patience to keep running the ball even if the results are not spectacular. Patience to keep taking the short throws over the middle that the two deep shell presents. Patience to get the ball to the backs in the flat quickly and give them space to work. All this stuff falls on Dak and Kellen Moore.. They need to pull their heads out and do what it takes to possess the ball, control the clock and punch it into the end zone. They need to quit being greedy and impatient.. Moore needs to instill in Dak the importance of not checking out of runs at certain times and Dak needs to be smart enough not to fall for the banana in the tailpipe every time the defense walks guys up to the line of scrimmage and try to show a run defense look on 2nd and 3rd down. They're trying to bait you into a pass call then they're going to drop 7 guys into coverage while the 4 remaining linemen completely disregard the run on the way to taking your head off. This is especially pronounced in the red zone where there is a lot less space to maneuver. Get under center.. run the damn ball off tackle, double at the point of attack and tell any TE who refuses to block that he's not going to play.

Problem solved... You're welcome..
Patience is key
If both safeties are deep you must run on most downs
Crossing routes work well too and both cooper and Lamb are really good at YAC
But it’s really about patience
If you drive 80 yards and score on 8 plays or 2
The results are still 6 points and a fifty-fifty chance of 7 lol

Stop running the ball up the middle 20 times when it is not working. Rather if it is Zeke or Tony...just get more creative.
Pollard out in space is a weapon. Use him.

Once that opens things up in the offense, get a lead, Then pound Zeke time to wear down the defense. Those runs up the middle will then work.

This is so frustrating. Our run game now is so stale and boring. We run straight into the line. We don't mix anything up. No misdirection, edge runs, outside runs, counters. Running from sets normally for passing. We are not trying to catch them off guard. We have reverted back to the same ol same ol. We line up and run our plays no matter what the defense is doing and no adjustments at all

Wrong....................You said it was one of our biggest priorities. Which was laughable.

We need one, but it wasnt more important then say a REAL backup QB, ect.....ect......
and QB2 was the first on the list in that post,, I posted QB2 and RB3 and you replied that I had zero clue....
I remember everything.. its my affliction

You want an interesting and creative running game, just review some SF recent games.
Finding a running game, isnt rocket science, its just being a bit creative and working with what you have on the roster.
This team has enough on the roster, its just Moore not being creative enough with running game to create opportunity.

NO I remember quite clearly your comment on the #3 RB. But it was NOT a pressing need for this team as you tried to make it. There were other much more pressing issues.

#3 RB is not a pressing need for any NFL Team in preseason.

Runs to the outside and off tackle (we are a struggle bus up the middle), bunch formations and screens.

If playing Pollard more means we go back to closer to 50/50 run/pass then I'm all for it. I'm sick and tired of this team throwing it 75% of the time and complaining that the run game is not producing.
Dak’s ego and kellen moore’s need to be seen as a brilliant offensive coordinator.

In the first preseason ever that has an extended 17th game ,, rb3 is very important

The QB-RB running the run read option will do damage. Dak is not a threat to run the ball any longer. LBs and DEs are keying on the RB and not even thinking about the QB.

Dak needs to run the ball more. Just like he did in 2016. If Dak runs a little early on the game, I bet defenses change.

Try five WRs and motion one WR into the backfield. Hit the WR in the flat.
Not a whole lot of qb runs but at least one a quarter IMO

Your take is exactly opposite of what Amari Cooper pointing out as being the problem.

The Cowboys move the ball. Stats confirm that.
- Their issue is too many field goals that should be TDs.
- Cooper says the issue with cover-2 is that running the ball and using short passing inevitably leads to having to score from the red zone.
- Cooper believes that the solution is to score more before they get to the red zone.
- That is hard to do when running the ball and with short passes.
That sounds like a receiver's POV. I disagree vehemently. Those types of O's don't win super bowls. Ball control is still key.

Not sure I've ever seen a point missed this badly before.

And yet I’m still correct.

All offensive problems have the same answer. Pollard.

Dak will be better and see coverages he’s comfortable against if he gets the ball more.

You've got to have a tight end (Jarwin?) that can run routes up the seam to beat Cover 2... look at Travis Kelce. Or Ceedee Lamb up the seam. Really the seam route up the middle is the biggest cover 2 beater.

They don't. He's talking schemes, you went straight to individual players. Quite nonsensical!!!!!

Opposing teams can get away with this scheme because Dallas can't run the ball, even against a 6 or 7 man box. The reason why they can't is because Zeke is either injured or just toast. If you put in Pollard, the cover 2 scheme won't work. Dallas can just control the game and score most possessions.

This isn't some theoretical thing. Dallas is moving the ball with Pollard in. The team gets to the red zone, puts Zeke in and gets few yards up the middle setting up a 2nd and long and eventual FG.
