Visiting old friends in San Antonio. The authentic Tex Mex they have served up over the years is legendary. I'm not in charge of the menu so I can't say what it will be. I just know my nose is liking the smells it is detecting, We are enjoying the sweet weather by having a Mexican cookout on the patio. It's going to be in the upper eighties today. :D

I am sensing a theme here, 5, I am sensing 5. Let me guess, 5 ingredients in those deviled eggs?

OK, CC, if this is what you are having the day after the Christmas feast, I just gotta know what you had yesterday. Now, if this is leftovers, you should have designated that in the beginning like the rest of the posters did and not tried to show off.

Never mind for you...week old bread and mesquito infested water..that suite your types of guidelines...I stated what i will be having for the next three days. But if that has to be presented as well, then just suite your self!

By the way...hope you miss the ball game because of a winter storm and power shortage. Last February, it forced our Son, John, to lose his leg - missing kidney dialysis for five straight days. He deteriated from there and and he was buried TWO months ago. This was my wife, Ann, and my first Christmas without him. A very tough experience for us.

As to YOUR number 5 DECLARATION: I made the mashed potatoes with packs...garlic potatoes, sour cream potatoes, potatoe bits, regular buttered potatoes, and sour cream...that is FIVE additions. As to the cheese macaroni dish, it acutualy was composed with a macaroni and cheese mix with a linguini mix. It had both of those two types of cheese mixed...plus shredded mazarela, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded parmesan. There was TWO bags of jumbo shrimp on the top of that smoked bacon and macaroni casserole, covered by the grated parmesan. Yep, that was FIVE cheeses as well.

You and your Grinch routine can now shove things in that festive response somewhere dark and similarly unviewable while waiting on YOUR two turtle doves...

My daughter-in-law, who lost her HUSBAND, made the deviled eggs...this year, WITHOUT pickled relish!!!

My mother-in-law has promised me all last week that smoked beef ribs would be served yesterday. My mouth was watering and we went to their house around noon with empty bellies. I haven’t had a good, smoked beef rib in years.

All the food is set out and time to eat…..about 20 of us. I lift the foil over the ribs and they are PORK!

So, I will be eating more baby backs tonight :lmao:

Tamales with sauces. Porkers with queso and cheese and green chile tamales with chili and two salsas to top that off and plenty of cheddar, jack, onions, peppers and scallions on top. Jalapeno margaritas with chips and queso and salsa mixed before the main event.

I got tamales for Christmas Eve and didn't eat them. Then I had them for Christmas Day (same tamales) and didn't eat them so now I am starting a new tradition, Post Christmas Tamales. I have checked with my guide into all things Mexican if this is acceptable and she said yes but do not expect the Mexican tradition to change along with mine. She also reminded me of this when I was under the weather on Cinco de Mayo and wanted it changed to Cinco de Seis.

I found this to be the case in Louisiana when I needed some cooperation for changing Mardi Gras, some people can be so unaccommodating.

All of this refutes that theory that only we exist, alone, and everyone and everything around us is of our own creation. If that were true, I would have gotten more cooperation on these holiday traditions.

Gawd I love good tamales. The best place in denver closed down a few years back when the owners retired. I'm still in mourning.

Drat, my 'christmas tamales' this year, were from a can!

I lost my job at the start of December...and a loss of about $2,000 cash flow. I always gave tamales to my neighbors at Christmas...not this year. Kind of like being stationed in Germany and looking for my Christmas tamales.

Rib eye with leftover dinner rolls and rice pilaf. I thought we had green beans with slivered almonds and glazed carrots leftover but the wife had them for lunch. Looks like what frozen veggies i can find in the freezer.
