So if the thread title was changed to the offense is no longer in slump I think it would be spot on

and of course we hear a lot of Washington sucks so let’s see it again

I’d like to see it next week as well and the week after but didn’t Washington beat Tampa? Something we couldn’t do ?

people always want to minimize accomplishments so they can keep from being dissatisfied or disappointed I guess
Yes but that thread title doesn’t grasp the interest.

After several games with an offense struggling to score and move the ball effectively as it had in first half of season we appeared to overcome all in one night with an explosion scoring a record 42 in a half and most points in a regular season game in over 40 years with 56 points .

A game and score which should remain in our memories for years to come . However I had forgotten our last regular season 50+ explosion in 1980. While most recall our last 50+ point outburst in SB 27.

And our defense looked like it was playoff ready creating havoc and scoring of its own. A tremendous team effort .

Let’s hope this carries over and we didn’t shoot our wad in one glorious night. This was the kind of performance that gives us confidence we can hang with the Elite QB’s and teams in the conference making a deep push in the playoffs.
It certainly appears that way.
Better timing, looked more confident in his reads , stepped into throws, looked accurate and more importantly kellen got him into a better rhythm with the up tempo no huddle.
Dak was phenomenal

No, Dak was not in a slump.

Post Edit: A slump is when everyone around you is playing well except for you. That definitely was not the case for Dak and his Offense.
Dak was definitely working through some post-injury mechanics issues with his throwing motion the last few weeks AND the rest of the offense didn't help. The Oline was (probably still is, as the run game looked marginal) having issues. C. Williams proved his worth as the McGovern at starter experiment was a bust. Tyron Smith getting hurt always seems to derail the offense. CeeDee and Coop were some combination of COVID, concussion, and dropsies. Zeke and Pollard were hurt. Zurlein missing XPs. Add that together and it looks bad. Luckily, our defense started to get healthy at the right time.

I would have rested him. He has knee damage. That kind of makes things challenging.

I would have benched him too. To me it was more the Oline. Zeke goes as the line goes. Just like most backs. Pollard was having trouble finding room as well. Although from Pollard we often saw the big play runs when he would break one.

Dak is a great QB. Great QBs have slumps because they are human. A big reason Majomes struggled early was because teams adjusted and weren’t blitzing him because he destroys the blitz. KC adjusted some things and Mahomes snapped out of it.

Almost the exact same thing happened with Dak and this offense. He eats the blitz alive. Starting with Denver teams stopped blitzing and concentrated on having enough guys in coverage to smother our route schemes. It takes time to adjust to that kind of stuff especially for a young team that has had an OL in flux because of injuries and our star QB playing through injuries as well.

Last night we came out of it and trucked WFT like they were a pew wee football team. This is a team that can win it all.

Don’t get me started on the defense..

:hammer:

QB's have slumps because they depend heavily on an Oline to block in order for them to do their job properly. Among a host of other things.

KC turned over all 5 Olineman in the offseason. 5 new guys. He was slumping in the beginning because they needed to find continuity. As soon as they settled in and the defense got healthy, Mahomes went right back to normal.

Put the party hats away. This was a win against a bad team. Granted, they did what they were supposed to do which is kick the crap out of a crappy team. Dak still didn't have a whole lot of time to throw and the WFT doesn't really have any elite pass rushers. There were a lot of dink and dunk passes...we need to get the ball down field some more. Cardinal's game should be an interesting test as will E-gals. Sorry, but I'm not drinking the Kool-aid yet. Another thing...a butter knife makes quicker cuts than Zeke. If he has another gear in him, I sure hope he shifts to it in the playoffs. Time to earn your contract.

I support Dak, but I have to see more before I feel confident that he is fully out of his slump.

1 game does not end a slump. if he doesn't have any bad games in the next 2 he could have snapped out of it.

A reeling Washington was just the slump buster we needed. The boys took care of business in all 3 phases of the game and absolutely dominated in 2 of them. From the offense I've been calling to see some fake handoffs, pre snap movements, creative run plays and we got it. I don't care that wash is a mess personal wise we still needed to ball out and they did. Seeing Dak run hard was also inspiring. Everyone brought their A game and it shows. Now let's roll the Cardinals and then stomp philthy into next year.

I liked what I saw from the team last night. I love what I see they are capable of.

Two things from me

His footwork has improved and he doesnt look hurt anymore. When he had to run he looked quick. In weeks past, he looked sluggish and hesitant.

Yeah, if he can just get back to being above average on a regular basis, we have a chance.

I don’t believe he ever was in a slump. He had nothing to lose he just let it fly. I don’t like playing cautious but that’s with the play calls were before yesterday

I thought you just said he’s nothing but average now if he could play above average. How about some consistency. Prescott is the top 10 quarterback never been anything less.
