I rarely ever listen to anything they have to say. I caught some of it the past couple days and it annoys the hell outta me.

Now these guys are praising us…. Saying “we have a shot at the SB”. Meanwhile they were calling us choke artists weeks ago.

If we go to the SB they get to say “I told you so”…. And if not then they’ll just rip us again. It’s gross these guys actually get paid for their “opinions”.

So what's the difference between that and this forum then? :D

You get the same thing here from a majority of the fans because they live in the moment. When we were playing great earlier in the season everyone was talking Super Bowl and when we started slumping off everyone was down on the team hating on players and coaches. Kellen Moore went from a genius early in the season to a incompetent bum a few after the Denver game. Fans and the media live from week to week with teams. The NFL season is a roller coaster.

Before December this team was trending towards the same collapse we have seen....the 4 wins in December topped off with the one against wft Saturday has finally reached a tipping point where we're being taken for real again....

Now let's see a big win at AZ and you will see us in the convo of top 3 contenders

Listen I usually don’t turn them on either. When scrolling on something I pass their video clips. I don’t even watch espn anymore. The only cowboys talk I listen to is the people on the radio app. (Albeit I’d prob listen more local shows if I lived in tx).

It’s just annoying as hell. These guys hoping on the bandwagon just so they can be on both sides of the fence.

They have scripted banter provided by producers who are only interested in ratings. Don't sweat it.

They have more knowledge than most of the fans that come here because they played the game. You wouldn’t have any problem listening to them if they had nothing but good things to say about the Cowboys. Sure it’s annoying when don’t see the team the way you do. They’re paid to be objective and give honest opinions. They’re not always right so don’t let it bother you so much. They have opinions just like we all do.

All these guys who get paid to talk sports have connections the rest of us don't. That kind of info is very important and stuff us fans need t know about. Hell a Shannon Sharpe can walk right into that Broncos dressing room , who here can do that? Troy can walk right up to Dak, who here can do that? Who does Stephen A and Cowherd not know?

I want others opinions, the more the better.

Here we get.....better say something nice about my Cowboys or I'll call you a hater......those TV cats don't care about that so ya get what is really going on, this is a good thing.

There is arguably IMO nothing more useless than “talking heads” in the media focused completely, or at the very least primarily, on sports. They rarely, if ever, have anything insightful to say and are there essentially for the purposes of entertainment. That means their comments aren’t chiefly generated to engage thoughtful discussion but rather, discord and argumentative backlash which only enhances the ability of the comments they make to get retweeted and repeated ad nauseum, which is ultimately what they want. SAS is a genius at this.

When I say these guys are useless, I say that with the caveat that if you enjoy this form of entertainment you will like guys like SAS and SB and find them useful, but for me, I find it more boring than small talk in a checkout line at a Walmart. The only time I check the media consensus among talking heads is when my teams actually bring home hardware and even then it’s gratingly boring. I much more prefer the guys that break actual plays down and show what’s happening on the field. Listening to guys like JA Adande, Max Kellerman, Jay Marriotti etc etc etc doesn’t mean ish to me unless they are speaking on the interaction of social issues and sports. Kellerman specifically can be engaging regarding this.

Having played the game isn't all that, us fans know more about the teams than the players do. Sure sure give them the x's and o's but not team histories.

Ask any current Cowboy to talk to you about Pettis Norman it will be.....who?

Way back in the day:
I was a "talking head".
Saw where things were headed and bowed out real fast.

Never looked back and still have no desire to do so to this day.

Nailed it.

I don't want to come this forum to hear all the negative nitpicking BS from so called "fans." There's more than enough negative press about the Cowboys on every single other news outlet. I come here because I want to hear something/anything positive about the Cowboys.

Editors and runners call and say "I need your article in 15 minutes! Write SOMETHING and send it to me NOW!" There was a time when sports reporting wasn't mean.

How dare people have and share their own opinions on a discussion forum!

I don't listen to them at all. If it wasn't for posters here linking their drivel I would forget they exist.

Chris Collinsworth was particularly nauseating Sun night going on and on about the WFT pillow fight on the sideline . Good grief that entire NBC package is getting unwatchable .
