The only thing I see stopping the Cowboys at this point is themselves

Another thing stopping us could be the Buccaneers, Packers, and Rams being pretty good football teams

How many teams like Dallas has Tom Brady sent home?

This sounds like false bravado to me. The Cowboys have a good team but they're not head and shoulders above the rest of the league. There are a handful of teams that can stop them, including a few that boast better talent at QB, the most important position on the field.
Its definitely over confidence. We havent proven anything other than that we can win some regular season games, and we are looking down on teams we should be gunning for.

Im just glad this crop of players dont seem to think like that fans did. As opposed to the 2008 squad, that had that exact mentality

I don't know how to classify who is "great" per se, but they did play Mahomes - former MVP/SB MVP and All Pro. They held him to 23/37 for 260, 0 TD's, 1 Int. He also picked up 11 yds on 7 rushes. Add to that, IMO, this defense is quite a bit better than the one that played against Mahomes in week 12. Overall, regardless of competition level, I just think the defense has significantly improved as the season has progressed. I wouldn't personally put K Murray in the same QB class as Mahomes (although they do have some similarities), and I know that anything can happen in any given week, but I feel good going into this game against AZ.
Good point about Mahomes he is good.
Defense is definitely improving
Just want to see how they fare against better offenses.
Last few weeks have been weak opponents.
Playoffs will offer greater challenges.

I totally get where you're coming from...I'm definitely not one of those thinking the trophy is in the bag, or even guaranteeing that we'll get past the first round. I just think that with the progress of the defense, and IF (a big IF) the offense is out of the doldrums, we have as good a chance as anyone else. I'll bet all the playoff teams' fanbases are apprehensive about their own teams, as well. There won't be any easy outs for any teams once the tournament begins.

A determined officiating crew could have massaged a much closer score last Sunday night with a few well-placed offensive/defensive holding calls against Dallas. Fortunately, we got to see what happens when the teams are allowed to play. That's definitely not going to be the case going in to the playoffs...especially if we end up at Lambeau.

Is themselves. If they can keep the penalties down and don't turn the football over I really don't see anyone beating them. With that defense and now with the offense back to normal it's going to be very hard to stop these guys and we can't forget about the Cowboys special teams, so at the end of the day you have to try and beat a three headed monster so good luck with that.
Injuries. KC also looks tough with that renewed pass rush.

It’s obvious the beatdown the Cowboys put on Washington last week has you getting a little too carried away with the team. The Cowboys are a very good team when they show up to play but they’re still going to have their work cut out for them beating Green Bay or Tampa Bay. The team has been getting fat lately off of average to bad opponents with backup QBs. The competition and caliber of QBs we’ll be facing in the playoffs will be much better. If the Cowboys don’t look good against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals on Sunday fans like you won’t be feeling so overconfident about the team.

Most fans here live in the moment and at the moment the Cowboys are coming off a 56 point demolition against a decimated team. It’s fans getting carried away with the team that leads to some of the board meltdowns when things don’t go well in the playoffs. Fans get blindsided due to overconfidence. I’m not saying not to enjoy the moment but I would advise caution. We’ve already been burned by the team this season on more than one occasion so I wouldn’t be getting the anointing oil out just yet.
No buddy they are amazing when healthy. Which they are approaching full health once smith gets back.

this defense is off the charts. We are a true contender.

I’m worried about big time QBs being dialed in and our defense struggling and our QB just not having the ability to match their points.

The Kansas City Chiefs game is exactly the type of game I’m worried about.
That’s because you don’t understand football or know how to read an injury report.

Oh sorry. I forgot that things weren’t perfect so that gives the QB a pass to not lead us to a single TD drive and throw boneheaded ints.

Some fools don’t know how to read an injury report. Our entire starting DL was still out that game. Half our OL and I believe a starting receiver or two.

About half the starters out. But then again guys like you don’t get it. Clearly.

Clearly I don’t. Especially when you have guys like Malik Turner who make smart football fans such as yourself not worried when starters are out.

Subjective penalties, injuries to key players, or Covid protocol are the three things that’ll prevent a SB win.

Yep, if our offense is back to the level of the last game and the defense stays good, we have as much of a chance as anybody.
Love your avatar by the way.

Thanks! Wish Mr. Lilly would have been in that photo, too. There were a number of guys from that era that were just special.

Our defense only let up 19 points in that game and our defense wasn’t even fully healthy - I like our odds!

True.. Maybe the Raiders game is a better comparison but even in the KC game we got off to a slow start and they jumped out on us pretty quick.

This team is not very good when we play from behind. It’s great when we get the early lead.
